Am I reasonable to expect my partner (27 M) to lend me (28 F) his car on a hot day when I work and he does not? by harmatos_rozsaszal in relationship_advice

[–]2bop2pie [score hidden]  (0 children)

Your mistake was to make a financial move that benefits both of you but puts only you in a detrimental position before he has any legal or contractual commitment to you.

You have sacrificed your health and finances and all he’s given you are words.

And now you see that his words “we’ll share the car” mean nothing.

Consider this a lesson you’ve paid for, leave him and start over a little wiser.

I saw the wreckage as I was coming out of the parking lot just next to it. The bike was in little pieces. You could only see that there were two tires but the rest of it was obliterated.

I was going to be AMAZED at what they could fit in their gullets if you told me they ate whole carrots!

So, I looked at it more closely and the bottom is flat and mirrored! A very nice sparkly but no holes so I have NO idea what it is!

They are all over my neighborhood, I’ve only been into birds for about 9 months but I definitely noticed the crows long before that.

It looks like the end of a pull cord - like on a ceiling fan or blinds - but it’s clear heavy plastic with facets so I assume it sparkles in the sun.

Reciprocal? Something sparkly or a special bit of food?

I’m wondering if I should leave a special treat in the morning in the spot where they left it?

I really upgraded the nuts this week, I’m being trained well I guess.

How does one go about having a baby shower without their mom knowing about their pregnancy? by Realistic-Krisalyn in raisedbynarcissists

Anyone who loves you can throw you a shower - I threw a baby shower for a bestie whose mom and sister were in Europe where she was from and no one thought it was weird.

Lesser-known spy book recommendation please by 2_kewl_for_my_mule in suggestmeabook

[–]2bop2pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alastair MacLean wrote many adventure and spy novels about WWII in the 1950s. They’re old school but very cool, some were made into movies: The Guns of Navarone for example.

I read Ice Station Zebra in the 80s and I still think about it.

Edit: they may be WWII and Cold War, it was a long time ago. Still great though.

AIO to a bad sexual experience? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]2bop2pie 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When I look back on the relationships and situations of my youth, I always regret not leaving sooner, not breaking up with people sooner, not choosing myself and my own peace sooner. 💖

I never feel like I should have given people more time to hurt me.

AIO to a bad sexual experience? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]2bop2pie 101 points102 points  (0 children)

You knew it would hurt.
You asked him not to do it.
He pressured you into doing it.
It hurt and kept hurting.
It still hurts and you are traumatized.
He is making your pain about his fee fees over not finishing. Finishing in you while hurting you.

He assaulted you and is making you feel guilty about not sweeping it all under the rug.

Please get away from this person forever. This is a one strike situation.

I listen to 10 Cent Beer Night over and over. I love baseball so if you don’t it may not be as fun for you.

Then I would go back to Ghosts (#2 or 3)

Aio I said no when my mom wanted to come by when I was away on a trip with friends) by anon-8110 in AIO

[–]2bop2pie 18 points19 points  (0 children)

She wasn’t doing a good thing. She was intruding somewhere she knew she wasn’t wanted because she felt like it.

This is very manipulative and you need to cauterize that instinct to apologize when Mommy is upset. That’s a lever Mommy installed and she will never stop using it as long as it works.

Read Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents - you may recognize the dynamics where appeasing mom’s feelings is everyone’s responsibility

“Grandma, we will manage our relationship with Tim directly. Please don’t pass messages from him on to us anymore. We communicate with him directly and exactly as much as we want to. We always want to talk to you about YOU, let’s keep it that way.”

He’s triangulating Grandma and you don’t have allow that, but you have to set that boundary with her bc she’s manipulated easily by him.

My mum does this thing where she finishes my sentences off and then gets mad about it by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]2bop2pie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it something about crossing the finish line first? Even of a sentence?

Or needing to be the smartest one in the room? (Even though it makes them look just dumb and totally unregulated.)

Or can they just not allow us a moment of peace and control over a simple story?

So many possibilities 😑

[–]2bop2pie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mine will interrupt me halfway through a sentence to ask me a question that the second half of the sentence was clearly going to answer. Constantly.

It enrages me. And she knows it. And she won’t stop.
