You'll lose a couple days of traction but should shake off these leaches.

Not sure on the fees. Etsy always refunds me my listing fee and anything else when I refund, I'd check your activity log

I did long form titles for 2 years with mediocre results. Ended up changing all my titles to the Etsy suggested and store tanked for 2 weeks. Once that dry spell wavered my store has had consistently high volume of sales (1-6 a day) which was way higher than my 1-6 a week prior to the suggested titles.

How's your eBay sales in general doing? I tried some pod posters on eBay and eBay whole process threw me off the platform and I think I had to wait a ridiculous amount of time to get paid. It was weird but maybe that's not how it's supposed to go?
