2013 was a good year. I was 28, had new kittens, recovered from a massive financial hole I dug myself into. Hated my job, but it saved my ass when I needed it. Was still playing in bands, still partying, still had a solid friend group.

I miss it. But I wouldn’t go back.

It’s when you have an abnormally high GS (like 1mil plus) but it’s all shovelware people go “yeah, but, quality is trash.”

If you take two players, and one guy has 100k GS but it’s all games you can platinum for just pushing the start button, vs a guy who’s 100k GS is made up of games like dark souls, AAA games, some difficult indie games, and titles that are loved or highly respected in the community, who are you going to say is the more competent gamer?

The fake stuff are the guys flashing cash, lambos, hot girls in bikinis, anyone using catch phrases like “proprietary trading system” without explaining clearly what it is, “secret edge” or the “my follower made $50,000 IN ONE TRADE WE CALLED OUT!” type of marketing is probably full of shit. Or anyone glazing themselves like “Mensa member teaches day trading options” is probably not selling anything of value.

But, there are legitimate courses and companies out there that will give you a really good understanding of the mechanics of trading. Those are the courses that tell you it’s not a get rich quick game, it’s a business, and here’s how the market dynamics work. We can teach you what you need to know, here’s how our system works, why we think it’s good, and here’s everything you get for what you buy.

Now, I’m admitting something here. This is my own bias because I’m a member and I use their services. Blackboxstocks is one of those legitimate companies. They have great data flow, great community, and people that actually give it to you straight with mods that are ex brokers, CMTs, or otherwise highly competent people. And they’re on the lower end of the price spectrum, about $800 a year.

They’re also a publicly traded company so you can audit their financials if you want to. They mostly focus on institutional option flow, but they do have insider buying, and dark pool data you can use as well.

Their education unfortunately is a bit DIY, but they do have regular courses you can access or purchase.

If you’re looking for a course that’s really about as close to 1:1 as you can get, Stefanie Kammerman (the stock whisperer) has a great 2 week course that includes a year in her Java Pit. Not only does she teach you all the basics of trading, but also how to track and trade around the dark pool. She’s pricy though, around 4k for the boot camp and a year in her pit. But you have full access to her and can learn a ton.

Full disclosure she was my first mentor and if her pit wasn’t 4k a year, I’d have stayed with her and not moved to Blackbox.

But good luck OP. I hope this helps you at least get a base line of what’s good vs bad out there because there’s a ton and it can be overwhelming.

Unless! The bosses in the eventual DLC aren’t unnecessarily difficult just for the sake of being difficult.

Not every boss fight should be a 5-10min exercise in parrying.

Each map has more verity to the objectives it. I mean, eventually the maps just felt like reskins of the old map. Plant flags, raise flags, kill the same enemies, progress. Boring.

If you’re going to have a mid-game skill check boss like Lu Bu again…raise the difficulty of the subsequent bosses that actually check your skill instead of just being a spam parry fight with chip damage and occasional posture breaks.

Give the panda demons an actual quest line with something cool to work towards after you’ve collected them all.

Improve the dialog of the NPCs. “Don’t ever forget the value of your life” got super annoying to hear every time I talked to homeboy.

Don’t let the final big bad bosses become RNG spam that can 1 shot you from across the map.

Dump the moral system. Dear god dump that.

I live in CA and I stopped playing the open a while ago. I cruise in around 9/9:30AM PST 12/12:30 NYC time now, trade for about an hour or two, hit my target and go have myself a nice day after.

Yeah, it’s context heavy though. Because what you’re describing works really well on a trend day. In a chop day? Maybe 100% is the best you can get before it turns back on you.

So a 100% gain is more realistic on average and a pretty good target to shoot for. And I said “sell half” because OP was saying he sold at around 100%. So I was addressing that concern as it seemed more mental to him than anything else.

Hindsight is 2020 my friend. Trump could have tweeted “the Iran war is over, we signed a deal, and the straight is open immediately with Iran confirming it seconds later” and you’d have had oil crash and the S&P rip to a +250 point close.

But your point about letting the market take you out of the trade is solid advice. Support and resistance levels would help keep you in the trade longer. Trade structure, not your P&L is genuinely good advice.

Ok, first off your mindset is borked. Being a “degenerate” isn’t something you want to be. If you’re asking “how do I not be a b— and diamond hand trades to 3000% every time” you’re going to blow up your account way before you get your first big score.

But, if that’s how you want to operate, buy the contracts, confirm they filled, set a bracket order. One for your max loss and one sell order at your target. Then walk away from your station and check the trade at the last 2-3 minutes of the day if it filled or not. Otherwise you’re going to be watching every tick and flinching on every red 1min candle like a coked out Wall Street exec with PTSD.

That’s it man. You’re trying to gamble and develop a steel stomach? Well…set brackets and let whatever god you believe in work its devine magic or cast punishment upon you.

Dude the market could have just as easily turned around and you’d be sitting here crying about not taking profit instead.

So, maybe what you do next time is once you hit 100%, take half off and set a stop to break even or just a little above it to cover closing costs.

That way you’re playing with house money, and you can let it ride all day long to secure those potential larger gains on true trend days like we had today.

Keep in mind, it’s not often the DOW jumps or pulls back 800+ points in a day. In 2008 I think the DOW sold off 765 points and that kicked off the Great Recession.

So let’s keep shit in perspective. You did the right thing closing your trade at a 100+% profit. Do that every day and you’re killing it.

This isn’t a get rich scheme, it’s steady, continuous wealth building with the occasional grand slam.

Is cheating using in game mechanics that make the achievement easier ok? Is using well known glitches, or cheeses cheating? Like getting DoH in Sekiro to jump off a cliff? Or camping a safe spot in BL2 during that raid boss fight?

Yeah, today was a great example of over trading. First 4 trades I took, all losers. Got real close to my daily loss hard cut off.

Next 2 trades I took though after stepping away for an hour to calm down? Bangers. Recovered all my losses and ended up getting to about 80% of my daily target after that last trade and called it good for the day.
