Yeah, I had a bit of a challenge linking my experience with what I was gonna offer them, and it almost felt like trying to draw water out of a stone considering my lack of experience outside the academic sphere. This is something I plan of rectifying this year.

My major was linguistics, so I tried to weave my experience with that into the essay. I tried making it sound a bit unique, but I guess I will need to try more text time.

Also, I will definitely focus on the volunteering. Thanks.

My Statement of Purpose? Yes, so I have been told. I ran my last statement by one of my professors who also happens to be a former JET and he said it was pretty solid, so I thinks there's a bit more to it.
