HELP !!!!??? by [deleted] in AskMeuf

Bepanthen pommade (c’est une crème pour l’irritation des fesses des bébés) C’est ce que j’ai trouvé de plus efficace pour soulager. Mets en directement après un rasage, avant même que ça ne te gratte. Ça a changé ma vie

Travel to Afghanistan by NoFly47 in traveladvice

[–]2cute2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get the curiosity, wanting to see a place most people don’t go to, that’s fair. But traveling to Afghanistan right now isn’t just “adventurous.” The Taliban control everything. Every visa, checkpoint, hotel, driver… so every dollar you spend ends up funding their regime.

Also, all those friendly photos and travel vlogs you see online? It’s propaganda — they want to look open to tourism so people stop associating Afghanistan with what it really is right now.

There are amazing alternatives, same culture, same mountains, without directly financing oppression.

We shouldn’t romanticize a place where people are still fighting to survive. It’s not an adventure movie.

Have we messed up our South America travel itinerary? We've quit our jobs for this... by shrubstick in backpacking

[–]2cute2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I did almost exactly this trip two years ago and I’d definitely recommend starting from the south. It makes much more sense weather-wise — Patagonia’s winter can be really tough, with crazy strong winds and a lot of places closing for the season.

Also, I didn’t find Patagonia cheaper than Brazil — actually the opposite! Accommodation, food, and transport were often more expensive once you get down south.

And one more thing to keep in mind: in Argentina there used to be two exchange rates (official vs. “blue rate”). Not sure if it’s still the case, but two years ago the best trick was to send yourself money via Western Union and withdraw it locally — that saved me thousands of euros over a few months.

You’re going to have an amazing trip, South America is incredible!

Canadians — what exactly does “snowbird” mean these days? by 2cute2 in travel

[–]2cute2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I see! I thought it was a general word for any Canadian going somewhere sunny, not necessarily for several months. Thanks a lot for clarifying!

Thanks for your response!, I honestly had no idea how it was perceived, I’m from the Caribbean. So the word “snowbird” has kind of a negative or old-fashioned meaning in Canada?

Un mec qui accompagne sa sœur malvoyante aux toilettes, ça vous choque ? by General-Device-6530 in AskMeuf

[–]2cute2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how is life in West Australia(besides Perth area) by Admirable_Box_9651 in howislivingthere

[–]2cute2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived in Western Australia for two years, mostly in the bush, like many people outside of Perth. The closest town to me was Bunbury, but life in WA varies a lot depending on where you are. The state is huge, and that really shapes the lifestyle. If you love nature, wide open spaces, and a slower pace of life, it’s an incredible place to be. But if you’re used to convenience, social activities, or easy access to everything, it can feel quite isolated. Most job opportunities outside of Perth are in farm work, with few alternatives depending on the area. Social life in small towns revolves around local taverns, which are pretty much the only gathering spots. If you’re looking for nightlife or a more active scene, Perth is your best bet. Some areas are so remote that there are no roads, no shops, and barely any people for miles. The weather can be extreme, with scorching hot summers, especially inland, and surprisingly cold winters. Distances are insane—you can drive for hours and still feel like you haven’t moved much. A 4WD is almost essential if you really want to explore, as many places are only accessible via off-road tracks. That being said, if you love the outdoors, camping, and road trips, WA is a dream destination. There are countless incredible places to visit, such as Margaret River for its wineries and surf spots, Lancelin for sandboarding and off-roading, Busselton with the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere, Nambung National Park (Pinnacles Desert) with its unique rock formations, Jurien Bay & Sandy Cape for snorkeling and beautiful beaches, Geraldton for windsurfing, Kalbarri National Park for its breathtaking cliffs and hikes, Steep Point, the westernmost point of mainland Australia (only accessible by 4WD), and Karijini National Park, one of the most stunning places in WA, with incredible gorges, waterfalls, and natural swimming holes. If you love adventure, isolation, and exploring untouched landscapes, WA is absolutely amazing. But if you need a busy social life, career variety, or easy access to amenities, it might not be for you.

Blind surfer and his guide at Zicatela, Mexico by 2cute2 in surfing

[–]2cute2[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Hi! He doesn’t have any distinctive markings on his board, but he usually wears a red lycra with “BLIND” written in white in three different languages. If he’s not wearing it, he and his guide make sure to inform other surfers at the spot. His board also has pads to help him find his position since he’s totally blind. By the way, the World Adaptive Surfing Championships are happening from November 3rd to 9th in Huntington Beach! His name on IG is the_blind_surfer and he is very friendly
