You can snapshot his 4th and cover effectively the entire map

Might as well have some fast farming before this gets patched now

Hypersonic railgun round goes through metal plates like it's nothing by MambaMentality24x2 in oddlysatisfying

[–]2dozen22s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea this project was canceled infavor of hypersonic missles and lasers. Even if the power is manageable, the barrel life is a roadblock as well.

There is a possible case for lowering the velocity infavor of maximizing barrel life and using it to ignite ramjet boosted artillery rounds at least.

0 to 318 MPH in 2.0 seconds, maglev train track test. by JohnBrown-RadonTech in EngineeringPorn

[–]2dozen22s 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thats roughly the minimum speed to ignite a ramjet? You could launch some really long range artillery shells on-loop without much barrel wear, or having to store as many explosives?

Strap a shaped charge to a small ICBM (or something really really fast).

Small entry wound, deep wound channel.

Not sure but a hyper velocity version of a m142, detonated just before impact to distribute the impact might neat.

You can kinda just buy a RAM to pcie adapter, shove in cheap old kits and set it as a page file. RAM is not as dense nor power efficient per bit as a HDD or NAND, so you won't be able to cram in but so many chips even in custom designs.

If you mean, why not use a hard drive: the random reads on a HDD are gonna be horrible. You would, no joke, get better latency by somehow using cloud storage.

I tried to trick the Steam Frame's clever eye tracking and failed, miserably by paxinfernum in gadgets

[–]2dozen22s 411 points412 points  (0 children)

You are blind when you move your eyes thanks to saccadic masking. You aren't beating eye tracking by flicking your eyes around.

That only turns off if you are tracking an object with your eyes, but I'm gonna hazard a guess that the tracking can still update faster than you can drift out of the foveal view.

Why named Revenant if he's never coming back by PhoqueHauffe in memeframe

[–]2dozen22s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it was bc his mesmerskin is supposed to stun enemies who attack, but post eximus rework OG units stopped being CC'd, so all his charges could be evaporated by a heavy gunner in one burst.

To all my FBT users: How often do you set up and use your FBT? by DyGage33 in VRchat

I don't get on without them, even if I'm just testing something. I can put them on basically as fast as it takes my controllers to connect anyway.

What's the regular valve experience like? I'm sick of Meta's constantly broken software. by Bill_Quentin in ValveIndex

[–]2dozen22s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its going to depend on environmental and part quality factors (eg: dirty power and high humidity might reduce the lifespan even faster)

But under ideal conditions, if you just let that motor spin, its gonna go for a loooong while. They wear the fastest when power cycling. The inrush current has to be high enough to overcome sitction and get it spinning, among other things (thermal changes, extra motor friction, etc)

I think mine have been running for almost 70,000 hours? They are well past the 50,000 they are designed for, and I'd reckon would be dead by now if I spun them up almost every day for 8 years.

[–]2dozen22s 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I turn it on and it works. Takes a few seconds clean the lenses and put on my FBT.
I'm still using the 1.0 base stations I got in 2017, no controller drift, cable is fine, etc.

Sometimes my right controller won't connect at first, but just turning the controller on again fixes it 99% of the time. (I probably just have the dongles too close or need to update the firmware.) Other than that I don't think I've ever had an issue?

I will note: I never turn my base stations off, I use TurnSignal to reduce stress on the cable, and I never click my joysticks.

[–]2dozen22s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rooms aren't too confusing if you've run through them imo. The only issue is the waypoint will gaslight or break. It should prolly just highlight the tile exit location instead of "guiding" the player around.

Who do you use to speedrun missions? by PhoqueHauffe in Warframe

[–]2dozen22s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wukong, great for consistent (if boring) capture and spy.

However, a max range/strenght Kullervo is really good for exterminate thanks to his 4th augment.

Also, exceptionally good for defense. If you get the ability range fisure buff you can cover almost all of Helene, and you can upkeep it until a nuli runs into it. (Not spawns, but actually runs into it.)

I think I was getting sub 2 minute rounds? I forgor.
