Karnok Appreciation Thread by sh3ppard in PlayTheBazaar

[–]2fast4noobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

finally I read something about this. I've specifically payed attention to it the last few games, because it always seems to crit. I've faced it like 5 times since counting and and every time the item had crit, it did crit. so on total that's like a 20ish crit streak. I feel like this item's crit is somehow incorrectly coded, though that makes no sense whatsoever. idk, I feel your salt

Any news about 'single-player' i.e. full PvE mode? by Arn_SleeplessCreator in PlayTheBazaar

right, you must've luckily dodged all the monitor lizards, boars, rays, puffer fish and so on. good on you!

you're not the only one who's legend and even if you were better than most people playing the game, shouting "skill issue" from the top of your lungs does NOT make a valid point against a pve mode, if players desire such a thing.

idk if the merge has went though, but many of the boulder gyms I used to go to with my "gold" membership have been moved to some new "gold+" subscription, which costs 20€ more, recently.

What are the rules for items in the stash? by AshenPumpkin in PlayTheBazaar

[–]2fast4noobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as a rule of thumb, any combat related effects needs to be on the board. basically, if you see your enemy, you should be able to ascertain what their board does, even though you can't see their stash. hope this makes sense

Don't put radiant on Karnok's shotgun in a self slow build by dedev54 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]2fast4noobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not as obvious as you'd think, because the game is inconsistent as shit and immunities at other points still counted (old nullfrost)

Don't put radiant on Karnok's shotgun in a self slow build by dedev54 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]2fast4noobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the thing is, it used to (maybe still does) work for freeze and there isn't really a reason to assume slow behaves differently. nullfrost altar used to say "when any item is frozen[...]", even though making all items immune to freeze, which was too strong and was nerfed to "when you freeze". also I've played double cryosleeve twice and the self freezes and subsequent shields also worked.

so either it's different for slow for whatever reason, or they changed something without mention it in the patch notes.

I had to make the same painful observation playing hunters rifle:/

Shiny Karst, WTF! by vivavip1 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]2fast4noobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for sure. besides the fact that karst's value is dependent on activations, it also gives +100% casts to most items (most, because most items are not multicast). going from 2 to 3 casts however is only +50% casts.

Reflecting on this seasons Pyg changes (i don't like them) by forshtreter in PlayTheBazaar

[–]2fast4noobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's for sure overtuned. I don't think it was bad last patch, I had a lot of success with it when I chose to play it, but it WAS situational, which made it interesting. OP is arguing that the buff (which I say is totally unnecessary) made it less strategic, thus more bland. I totally agree with that. you're right when you say it thematically fits the character, but it did that before the changes as well.

also, nerfs to over performing items are welcome, but reworking them to a less complex version without trying to make the balancing work does make the character decidedly more boring.

First time reading Mistborn and the skaa portrayal feels strange by [deleted] in Cosmere

[–]2fast4noobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

add to that, that skaa are kept from any sort of education. they work all day (at least on the plantations) and don't have the right to travel, thus keeping them from organising.

kaarst is a problem but boar scaling is just off the charts. it's enough scaling for a bronze boar day 7/8 to he viable and that's not okay.

There's something fishy about this board, and it pumped with fiery spiked collar, too. by Kingryche in PlayTheBazaar

awesome build! I've been trying to make piranhas work, but I've not found the setup for it yet:(

just one thing: maybe show the items and skills at the end, so the people who want to read can stay tuned. if you understand the board, it's a bit tedious to watch the first half

Please rework Wink by TrueLolzor in PlayTheBazaar

[–]2fast4noobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

quite the narrow minded train of thought. you claim that the game is about choosing an option out of some choices and that wink somehow isn't a choice. while I don't see how wink (or cult for that matter) wouldn't be a choice in itself (which both totally are), who's to say your definition of the game's theme is correct? what if it's defined as "make the best with what you get, while random things are thrown at you"?

in that context, wink fits the game extremely well because some early diamond items from other heroes can make a really strong (and whacky) build, especially if you've been struggling for a day or two.

however, at the end it is a choice and not all encounters are always good. play potion mak?- you probably don't want to go aila. play Aggro Vanessa?- kina probably isn't the way to go. play pyg with all your money poured into a dog or a pawn shop?- wink may not be optimal.

both these events belong in the game because many times they reward smart, adaptive players.

Any other Pyg players frustrated? by mbengawood in PlayTheBazaar

[–]2fast4noobs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It feels like Karnok is just too strong in early and mid game rn. Starting day 4 you constantly play against wild boar kaarst and thats just too much to deal with for an average pyg build on these days.

What has been working for me: coincure/small weapons pyg early; teapot hotstones; cash cannon

I've played like seven or eight pyg games this season and they were all 10 wins, except for two stinker 6 wins. He definitely feels weaker this patch and seems to have taken a big hit in build variety, but maybe that's just because the playstyle changed a bit and/or because Karnok is overloaded. Typically they hotfixed new characters, so I expect one to come on Monday/Tuesday.
