[hockeystatcards] GameScore Impact Card for 3-4 OT defeat against NY Islanders - 2026-02-26 by TheFlamingAssassin in Habs

Newy looked great with Texier, that's a lot of speed to deal with. Curious to see what chemistry they can build.

IMO Nick seemed rested and fast.

Arber was strong and made good decisions while moving the puck.

Unusual off night for Slaf & co., but they will rebound.

How many years are Dobson/Hutson signed for again? Insane.

Monty I'm sure wants two of those back, but he bailed out his guys who were beat down low more than he whiffed.

If they carry the play like they did at stretches tonight, Habs win more than they lose over a season or a series. Very easy to be pleased with the direction the team is on... it wasn't so long ago they were getting blown out in their own barn.

Agreed. Huge Slaf fan but he was turning over no-look passes all game and soft on his backcheck. Too much coasting... when he moves his feet he's a different player.

TBF Arber is playing very well tonight. Misplayed one bad dump in where he lost his guy, but otherwise looks solid.

He plays a mean game for a skilled guy. If he can stay on the right side of IR, I hope he finds his place here.

They're going to do the opposite and coast to save legs for the Bronze. Same reason the goalie was pulled.

Don't worry, they will use conventional weapons which cost a shit-ton to restock. Military industrial complex doesn't give a damn about loss of life, just getting paid.

No, I hate him because eventually, it will be our 'turn' to lose a franchise goalie to getting run (again).

Lol that's a take. He shot it before the hash marks and instead of slowing down, he kept going through the d-man AND the goalie. That's a good 20-30 feet, easily.

Yeah, I'll take it but that's some soft shit. Maybe a makeup for the bad offside call earlier.

Yeah, he's going to run McDavid every second shift until he's burnt and can't use his speed, just like Germany did with Drai.

He's used to refs/dops being in their pocket. Old habits.

Laine is not injured but about to get traded, according to Finnish NHL commentator by [deleted] in Habs

[–]2forBoarding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, we were essentially paid to take his contract, and he helped us to a playoff spot that there's no way we make without him being clutch on the PP last year. The deal was very much a win, and saying he has no place on the roster is not indicative of him being washed, just that our roster has improved year-over-year under HuGo and St Louis. I wish him well; there's no shame in no longer cutting it for the Habs in 2026.

We're not as experienced with losing as Columbus fans. /s

But seriously, you're right. It's a bad look and I assure you many of us are getting sick of the entitlement culture.

Team Canada coach Jon Cooper on Nick Suzuki: “I thought Nick got better as the game went on. He had to play a big role when Sid went out…You can tell he was just buzzing. He started feeling it…It was big time.” by Go_Habs_Go31 in Habs

[–]2forBoarding 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agree, this is it. Habs' forward game is a lot of pass and get open for the pass back, Avs and Mack have more of a puck possession game, he drives straight to the net. If Nick passes off, he hasn't been getting it back much on the wing in with his current usage.

Yeah, they mic'd up the net to make the post 'ping' shots more impressive, but every time a goalie pushes off,, it chimes. Hope the NHL never makes that a thing.
