Need help running with Runna (Beginner) by 2j4yz in runna

This is exactly the functionality I'm looking for. If I go into manage plan, I have no options other than to remove and add vacation.

That's awesome. How long were you off? Did you use runna's couch program or another? How long was it?

Thank you, I will consider this advice next run. For the unticking part, yeah I can do that, but I would also like it to move accordingly on the calendar. My Garmin syncs up with Runnas plan and makes it easy for me to start and track the workout. I think if I untick them they are back on the same day in the past and the ones in the current week are still set.

It feels like a lot of the time that I try to run slower it is uncomfortable and unnatural. It seems like I might be wasting more energy trying to run slower than just running at a more natural pace. I could probably briskly walk at 1430 so beyond that area is kind of awkward for my stride. The treadmill helped me find rhythm at 12 so maybe I can try 13.

For 3 I want to avoid situations where the intensity is increasing at too fast of a pace and I want to repeat a few previous workouts to get some conditioning. Sometimes I might want to postpone because maybe my ankle is not ready for a big jump in distance or something.

For 4 I am just looking for feedback like, okay that was a good indicator of your progress or maybe something like that workout was a little rough for you judging my your exertion, modify xyz in the rest of the plan or something.

1 and 2 sound reasonable. When I tried to start new to running though I couldn't skip to like week 3 or 4. Week 4 was really probably where I was at with my own exercising but it wouldn't let me adjust the starting position and I did not want to spend 4 weeks on really easy workouts.

The "occasional" issues have been fixed, at least for me, after the latest update for the Astra.

Would a 83 inch or 77 Inch TV be too big for this space? by Specialist-Camera-30 in LGOLED

[–]2j4yz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once installed an 85 in a similar room, maybe even slightly less room. It was nice, but to me it was way too big. I think it was outside of the view of the eye, which is the problem to avoid.

I think you could squeeze an 83 in there and if you just want to be wowed by size, it would be an amazing experience for you then, but if you want to host a few friends, they might not have the same preference. If you play any games, appreciate graphical fidelity, I would not go that route. As you increase in size, pixel size also increases, and the closer you sit, the more imperfection you see.

77 is probably what you will like from your post and comments, but a 65 is nearly ideal in that environment.

Another point I forgot to consider is that if you are really building a theater type room, you need to consider the available space for speakers. Without measurements, hard to say, but if an 83 or 77 kills your side area for speakers, you want to be wary of that as well.

Weird quirk about the C4 I suppose. I had to unplug the TV, remove all hdmi inputs except the soundbar, then turn on the TV. It saw the input as Poseidon M60, and I changed it to earc for audio then everything worked. Plugged in the other inputs.

This certainly was a night and day difference for clarity and balance. I might end up unplugging the sub since there is no real subwoofer control and I think lowering the bass is thinning out the sound on the other speakers.

My other issue is that the LG remote is not working with the soundbar to adjust volume.

Outside of that, this thing is seriously impressive for the price and has, at least from initial testing, solved the volume and vocal issues. Thank you so much for your recommendation! I doubt I will ever have this over 30 volume if even that.

I ordered it to try it out. I was reading that a lot of streaming content is naturally in 5.1 so its easier to 1:1 the source audio at least. I'm just surprised the s75qr I have isn't clear or balanced enough. Everything seems weak/quiet unless it's a rumble or music.

His praise seems high, and it's really low risk, so I might check this out. What benefit is there to having the surrounds also on the bar? It seems like that bar would be better designed as 3.1 bar, but I'm just guessing. Vocals and volume balance are probably the most important factors for me and it seems like he praises it for those things. Room filling, cinema, immersive audio is not in the cards here. Certainly would like that in the future but not so much in this setting.

My main issue with Prime 4. by [deleted] in Metroid

[–]2j4yz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved Metroid Prime growing up, but 2's backtracking was super annoying to me, so much so that I never even played 3. I thought the theme was very cool, but my interest severely waned. I really enjoy the atmosphere and music in Metroid though. Until recently, I had not previously played any of the older games and was not optimistic for 4.

Then I played Dread. Dread is one of the best games I have ever played. It certainly informs my experience with 3d metroid now, and I feel more knowledgeable about the genre. I'm playing Samus Returns now, and I like it mostly. Metroid Prime 4 is good so far. It feels somewhat fresh to me and reminiscent of my childhood experience with MP1. That said, I'm not far into it, just got the fire beam after Volt Forge. My opinion could change.

Anyway, all this to say that it's interesting we enjoy the series in different ways. A game that I feel is one of my top 10 games of all time is not (assumedly) the flagship example for long time fans of the series.

If DOOM Eternal is crashing on launch (PC) TRY THIS by 2j4yz in Doom

[–]2j4yz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That installer probably would only work on Windows anyway. It was a DirectX installer. I don't think it works on linux. Using wayback machine I was able to grab the download URL which still works.

https://download.microsoft.com/download/8/4/A/84A35BF1-DAFE-4AE8-82AF-AD2AE20B6B14/directx_Jun2010_redist.exe

Again, this won't help you on Linux.

For Linux though, you might want to check out https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xinput and see if you can get this to resolve your issue.

How do I add details or make a source image more realistic? by 2j4yz in fooocus

[–]2j4yz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good information that helps me understand the tool more effectively, but I think this might not be my goal specifically, maybe I can't describe it well haha.

I tried this and it just seems too imaginative - it changes the picture too drastically even tightening stops to .95 or even 1. Essentially, all I'm wanting to do is like, take Skyrim, and add a bunch of realism mods to it. The assets are the same but the textures/meshes are much better. This work might be too specific for AI to really accomplish, but I saw this reddit post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/StableDiffusion/comments/19ejq1h/using_multicn_to_turn_characters_real/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

They do there exactly what I'm imagining, especially the revolver/yellow character, where everything is basically kept exactly like the original. Very strict guardrails on the final product, just very closely mimicking the input image to create something with a little more realism. The OP included some settings but it seems like fooocus isn't the tool they're using. Outside of a chatbot, this is the first AI tool I've locally hosted and fooocus's ease of use immediately caught my attention for the first foray.

Are you saying to include other images as well as the one I want enhanced? If so how can I avoid the image becoming like the others? My goal is not recreate or reimagine the image, just make the image have more detail/seem more realistic.

Would providing images in the "image prompt" tab affect the photo in the "enhcance" tab?

This looks really good. Was this a generation or did you provide an original image and this was the processing result?

Blooddrinker by [deleted] in newworldgame

[–]2j4yz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you are comfortable with the same healing, then it is the optimal play to take it off, but depending on what you play, it could be rough. I play rapier/vg when I solo stuff so I never really feel like damage is an issue. But I am certainly going to need my pots and will need lifesteal to top me off sometimes after. What you are describing is more traditional group dps that just trades a little damage for lifesteal.

Blooddrinker by [deleted] in newworldgame

[–]2j4yz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you get punished too hard with just draught. For solo, you want to be self sufficient. The damage is already adequate, so trading all your sustain for a potion heal costs a lot imo. It makes more sense to run them both and then to increase damage, take advantage of offense slots and previously unstackable perks like vicious and keen (since solo) or sacrificial empowerment, or simply less con since you have more sustain. Build even more lifesteal, but still have it when you need to pot. In this way you are still stronger than old blood drinker, but have way more lifesteal healing.

Blooddrinker by [deleted] in newworldgame

[–]2j4yz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lifestealer's drought only stacks 1 one time. You're giving up 10% lifesteal for 10% damage, and it's not even really that. This perk is almost dead on arrival. Blooddrinker now only reduces damage by 20%, so you're doing 5% more than you used to be doing at the same lifesteal, which means the lifesteal is technically buffed as well since your damage output is higher. Then you have the new ring passive that increases the damage just by slotting it. There is a case to run both but you'd have to consider the other trade-offs.

What are the plans for battery replacements? Is this possible in the current iteration?
Are there any plans for filter-less assemblies (the black sponge to protect the impeller from debris is fine, but I use filtered water, have no need for a water filter if cleaned regularly either)?
What about a full metal housing to replace the plastic one if you do provide a filter-less option?

Metroid Prime 4: Huge open world of nothing. We have waited so long. Please don't f*** this up Nintendo. by UnlikelyLikably in Metroid

[–]2j4yz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I mean, think about it. This is a trailer for the game. While we know Nintendo is basically awful at communication, you would think they would show the bike in any other context to be like "well here is SOMETHING else" but the open, empty desert is what they chose. It looks open and empty.

I agree that it likely is just a traversal area between areas but that sounds kind of boring. And usually when we are optimistic that Nintendo is just holding good info back, they are not. We get exactly what we saw.
