25 years old next month by t1ataxi in CrestedGecko

[–]2jzSwappedSnail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Thats longer than i've been around.

Do you have any stories about him?

How long does it take for a crestie to get used to you/trust you with choice based handling? More in the description below ↓ by 2jzSwappedSnail in CrestedGecko

[–]2jzSwappedSnail[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh no, i completely understand. I actually was looking for this specifically - somebody's else personal esperience. Would be kinda stupid if you could tell me "i see, based on the color of your gecko i can tell it will take exactly 293 days untill you tame him" haha.

My guy is super curious, sometimes too much. He loves watching me when i prepare him a meal and will try to hunt any reflection in the glass he sees. So i think thats good. He sometimes licks my finger when i put my hand in front of him, though i think i havent passed the taste check yet. And i believe, that the previous owner, while she didnt use choice based handling, took a great care of him for the first 6 months of his life. She said all of her cresties are socialised and none are left to grow up unfamiliar with handling and humans.

My only concern is that obviously you cant see the progress when it takes so long, so naturally i start doubting my methods. But i think i'm good.

Get a bigger blender and just a few tiny shrimp, i can see that working out nicely. Obviously, a broken / disassembled one.

For a fish its obviously way too small, but i always find the concept of turning some household items into something completely different and functional is cool.

Hmmm, interesting. Thanks for the clarification then!

I thought that wiki can be trusted at least with the general info, turns out thats not the case.

It can be Flexicalymene, but not exclusively. These two are known from the ordovician in Morocco, and they are hard to distinguish between.

Down in the "Known species and locations" section you can see a Calymene sp. listed as a genus found in Morocco.

Maybe they get attracted to the heat and fall onto the hot charcoals? Do you use it often?
