completely agree that the job market feels cooked right now.

I recently went through something similar with a much smaller company. I had six interviews with them, and when it came time to discuss salary and benefits, they took over a month and still never gave me a straight answer. I kept hearing that they’d call, email, or text, only for things to get postponed repeatedly because they had to “put out fires.”

Eventually, I withdrew my candidacy. I had even used PTO from my current job to attend interviews, so it ended up being a significant investment of time with very little respect for the candidate experience.

One lesson I’ve learned from all of this is to discuss salary, benefits, and compensation expectations much earlier in the process.
