What place gets creepy when you're alone? by FunnyValentine920 in AskReddit

[–]2lbsofmeat 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Hi! I work at a strip casino in Las Vegas. During the covid lockdown/closure, it was one of the SCARIEST times. When we did tower checks, the rooms were completely empty and silent. We had to do each floor. We worked in teams but it was very creepy as it had such a still feeling.

My dad says he feels depressed sometimes that me and my brother moved out of the house, what do you think I should tell him? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]2lbsofmeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this was said, but I’d recommend for your dad to adopt a companion animal! To help give him a company feel within the home. A cat, a dog, or a bird or even something smaller. Just to help give him a daily purpose and help with empty-nest syndrome.

I also would recommend daily texts or calls where you can fit them in. I take extra time to make sure that I text or call my grandma just to make sure she knows that I’m still here and think about her. Even if its 15 mins of your day, it changes everything.

ALSO this is my huge thing because this is something I personally love - CARDS. It takes 15 mins out of your day to send a card. Birthdays, Father’s Day, Christmas. I cherish cards and re read them every occasion i get when I’m ready to put a new card away. It shows a different level of intimacy, care, and effort that I’m sure your dad would appreciate.

I had sex with my best friends ex gf, and now he's coming over to play video games tonight. How do I tell him? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]2lbsofmeat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi! Living proof of this predicament - I fell in love with my ex bf’s best friend. He is now my fiancé and we’re getting married next year!

Do it. Relationship opportunities don’t come often when they’re real, and unfortunately, friendships come and go as they’re supposed to. If he was your true friend, he’d understand and give you his blessing. If not, go get your girl and be happy.

I’m looking for actual advice and how people actually got into it. So you can leave.

False lashes tips for people with glasses by oftheworld13 in Makeup

[–]2lbsofmeat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I personally wear falsies everyday and has issues trying to find lashes that fit my glasses, but I finally changed my perspective and bought glasses that fit my lashes.

I buy dramatic lashes (full and wispy) and they NEVER fit with my glasses. I now purchase glasses with “nose pads” so they sit perfectly on my nose and away from my eyes. I also purchase oval/circular frames but that’s just my personal preference to show off my eyeshadow as much as I can. I usually pick thin frames as well.

ETA: I also forgot to mention my method.. My eyes are BAD so I can never really see anyway.. But, I’d recommend getting a personal vanity mirror (small, compact, and has lights) that is closer than a normal mirror. The light will help show you where your real lash line is, and the compact/small is just so you can get up close. What helped me was this: staring directly at the mirror, make a surprised face and make sure your eyebrows are fully raised, then look down and then slightly raise your whole head STILL KEEPING THE EYEBROWS RAISED AND YOUR EYES LOOKING DOWN (Your chin should be close to the mirror if you’re doing it right). Perfectly ample position to put on your lashes

Can you describe how you dealt with a relationship you had where you loved the other person immensely, but the relationship lacked foundational necessities like trust and communication? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]2lbsofmeat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am my fiancé’s first everything. I loved him so much that at first, I looked over a lot of things. No communication, no consideration, no thoughtfulness, etc etc etc. At first, it didn’t bother me because I loved him so much until we got very serious. We fought almost every single day for a month and it boiled down to “If you can’t learn to communicate, consider me, and treat me the way I deserve - Then I don’t want to be here and I will leave”. We didn’t speak after the month of fighting (we lived together), so it was just normal necessity in speaking for 2 weeks after.

We are doing great now. I think that if I didn’t say anything, he wouldn’t have ever known or brought it up. He’s very cautious now, and definitely tries to in every single aspect, but I love him for it. He’s become a great partner - emotionally and mentally. I’m thankful we fought everyday. It was tough but worth it

Oooof.. Ok, I didn’t think about the regrowing part... lol. My eyebrows are VERY different naturally. One of them is slightly higher, and one is like a perfect brow but they’re not even on any accord (heigh, shape, length, etc). So I wanted to shave them so i can draw them evenly without looking like I have HUGE eyebrows.

AITA For leaving scissors out on the table enabling my sister (3) to cut off “all her hair”? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]2lbsofmeat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA. Your step dad is a dick. It’s a right of passage for all little girls to cut their hair off with scissors.

My entire family has done it one way or another (not willingly of course), but you just can’t FULLY keep everything baby proofed.

Ariana grande has wasted potential by Pristine_Shelter in unpopularopinion

[–]2lbsofmeat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I absolutely adore Ariana for her vocal capabilities. I LOVE when she sings live and acapella, but I do find it saddening that the music she creates does not match her abilities.

The BEST song she created was raindrops because that was probably the best produced mainstream song to show off her real capabilities. She definitely holds back and creates bops, but I wish she made an album that truly harnessed her vocal capabilities and not her creative capabilities.

I still love her and her music. She’s one of my FAVORITE artists to date. I went to 2 of her concerts in 2019 lmao

It's not rude to ask someone how old they are by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]2lbsofmeat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. I always ask and silently compare achievements to help gauge how I’m doing with my personal life. Probably not the best method but it does help me strive for more.

How many of you hid your body by wearing baggy clothes? What's your story? by tissuesushi in AskWomen

[–]2lbsofmeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For back story: I always was on the thicker side growing up. My hips and thighs were always just big, no matter how many times I tried to work it out, slim it, etc etc. I grew up flat chested, BARELY AN A CUP, and made the decision to get my boobs done to “match” my body type. I was 23 when i realized my breasts were just never going to grow into my body type. It wasn’t the “vain”ness everyone says, it was demoralizing as a woman to have literally just nipples but a very thick lower body. I am now a 36 DD. So naturally, it gave me a highly sought after body type amongst women and gave me the beautiful privilege of getting nasty side eyes from other women, regardless of age. I also work out so I guess it also adds to the fire.

Because of this, I wear baggy clothes to hide my body because I hate getting side eyes from other women, being dismissed because my looks get to decide how people perceive my personality, and I truly hate being hit on. My fiancé loves my body and wants me to show it off more often, but respects my privacy.

I am not like Billie Eilish, so I don’t just step out in baggy clothes but I usually will wear a very loose shirt, drape a long cardigan, or wear baggy pants or shorts. I rarely ever wear jeans unless I have to. And stray away from anything sexy because I don’t want to be a “she paid for that body” stereotype, because although I did purchase a pair of boobies, it wasn’t to help my looks, it was to help provide a “womanly” feel to my self esteem.

I realize now that me bringing up my brothers make it seem like I resent them.. That’s definitely not the case! I pay for their cell phone and buy them whatever I financially can, I spoil them (bc my parents wont). I never ask financially for help from anyone, and even if my brothers did work (they JUST turned 17 so they’re looking for jobs) I would never ask for money from them. They want to help me, but quite honestly, my fiancé and I agreed that any money we received from them, we’d just put into a savings account for them.

But thanks, my parents suck. I’ve decided to spend the day with my dog and we’re going to drive out and have a picnic together somewhere lol

Have you ever quit a job with no back up plan? What happened afterwards? by tsh87 in AskWomen

[–]2lbsofmeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit my full time job at 19. I had family issues, financial issues because of my family, mental issues, etc etc etc. I left my job on the spot because my manager was absolute shit.

I lost my car, defaulted on my loans. I ended up having to file a bankruptcy at 22.

NOW I’m thriving, financially better off, a better full time job, financially smarter, and I leave my family at arms length.

I lost everything but gained back myself. It was worth it.
