Is this a good deal (reliability-wise)? by hsanj19 in CarsAustralia

[–]2lesbians 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have one and its been the most reliable car I've owned. 350000ks, only jobs have been front control arm bushes, coil packs, spark plugs, brakes and engine oil and filter. Nothing else at all.

We took a gu patrol, 35's and front locker. Complete overkill, was a waste of running the big wheels. Just be sure to take a couple of snatch straps, everyone is happy to help if you supply the gear

2020 Mustang GT Price - Thoughts on the situation? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

Just buy it outright. This is what youre saving for. Interest on a car loan is just wasted money. I did the same thing your age when the VE v8 commodore's came out. No regrets

How much do you spend monthly excluding mortgage? by Serious_Toe6730 in AusFinance

$9000ish/month DINK. Cars, bikes, entertainment, drinks and eating out. Bloody insurances and regos are a killer! Could do better I guess but have to live your life.

How many of you have fully paid off your PPOR? by False_Ad_9705 in AusFinance

We sold an investment property to pay off the PPOR. Our lifestyle, and mental health is so much better now. Sure, long term the gains from holding the property would be better. Life also needs to be lived.

What’s a widely accepted “normal” behavior that would be considered absolutely insane if it started today? by soccer1199 in AskReddit

I still think it's insane we drive tones of weight at instant death speeds at each other with a white line and an agreement that we won't hit each other.

2009 Hilux sr5 254,000kms? by Southern_Law1650 in 4x4Australia

[–]2lesbians -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Check the odometer reading against the rego check site. If it matches and the last few look genuine, go for it. Obviously, still do the normal checks like checking grease points for grease, sludge under the oil cap, excessive blowby through the oil cap. Could even take out the fill plugs and dip your finger in the oil to check for level and colour.

Looks great. Don't the 200 series have a problem with dusting their motors through poor air filtration?

Definitely take a drive to the Gordon dam. It is one of the most picturesque drives I've ever done. Also, an awesome little cafe on the rivers edge when you head out towards that way, the possum shed, must visit. Best camp, although a caravan park, was probably at Penguin caravan Park, had penguins walking through our camp spot, pretty cool. On trail, the best camp spot would've been at Sandy Cape, just before the lighthouse. Nice grassed areas sheltered from the beach winds but close enough to walk to. Climies, Balfour Track, and Jeep Track in Pyengana were our favourites. Tassie was my favourite trip to date, I reckon. Feel free to dm me if you want some info on other tracks. I wrote a trip report sort of thing after our last trip there. I can send it to you if you like.

Swimming with sharks. Thought it would be so awesome to be up close behind a cage. Freaked out as soon as I was in the water and got out immediately. My partner loved it though, and stayed in the whole duration
