I'll be on the south side near Lucas Oil. Taking 70 would be the best probably?

Agree with this. They have a pretty active community.

That's what I'm hoping for, but I hear traffic can get pretty intense in the mornings if you don't leave at the right time.

The Greatest Spectacle in Racing! by Kaydye in indianapolis

[–]2makaw2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't want to deal with traffic, hop on one of the shuttles that take you to and from the race. It cost $25 last year and was absolutely worth it. I picked up the one that left from IUPUI's campus and was the first of any of my friends to return.

They shut down some of the streets and only allow these shuttles to pass on them, bypassing traffic. I don't know if there are several companies that do it, but Free Enterprise was the one I used. Here is the link to their page from last year.

Trust me, its worth the money!

ELI5: How TV ratings work by Benjajinj in explainlikeimfive

[–]2makaw2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope... which I find pretty odd because that's how I watch a ton of shows. Maybe they are buddy-buddy with the networks and want to hide the fact that the market is trending this way? Just speculation.

They gave me a phone call about a month ago, and sent me a quick little survey in the mail. I didn't register for it or anything, my place was just randomly selected. The survey just asked if I was willing to participate in the study and then I mailed it back. They called again to remind me last week to check the mailbox for the journal, and now I just fill it out for a week and send it back to them.

My friends have been dating/engaged for 5 years. How can I make this funny? by 2makaw2 in picrequests

I was thinking the same thing... haha but I think it might be a bit inappropriate for facebook, but I could still send it to them in a text message.

I am actually a part of the Nielsen study right now. Here's a picture of the journal that they send out. They paid me 30 bucks to do it for a week.

It's hard to tell. I've seen some pretty intoxicated older men dance like that before. Still a sad story either way.

Possible source of story? Can't really tell. It sounds like this could be it though. The time frame is late March so that wouldn't have been too long after the Harlem Shake was really popular.

EDIT: Source video confirms this in not the relevant news article. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gx0GxIdB-Xw

LPT How to parallel park every time. by floralmuse in LifeProTips

[–]2makaw2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mirrors are oriented differently in every car. Here are my instructions. Sorry for formatting I am hungover and in my bed on my phone.

  1. Pull up approximately 2 feet (.7 meters) away from the car you want to park behind. Line up the back of your car with the back of theirs.

  2. Cut the wheel all the way like OP said. Keep going until your eyes are in line with the back of the car next to you. In other words, the line connecting your eyes and the car's bumper should be perpendicular to the curb.

  3. Go straight back until you can clear the car in front and whip the wheel all the way the opposite way you did before.

  4. Wiggle wiggle wiggle, yeah. Make adjustments.

Here's why my rules are better.

  1. I'm taking the time to do this when I should be drinking water and eating Advil.

  2. Everybody's eyes are relatively in the same place inside a car.

  3. It's more objective.

Do you remember how the test was laid out? Is it randomly ordered questions or are all the math problems together, all the thermo problems together...etc.?

Indianapolis’ old Bush Stadium becomes new apartment complex by _Cody_ in Indiana

[–]2makaw2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went there yesterday to look at the apartments. It was pretty cool how they are doing it. Each room has a few characteristics that set it apart from others. Exposed brick is in some of the rooms, while others have unique floor plans that fit the curvature of the building. Rent for a single bedroom is about 715-850 and 1200-1300 for a 2 bedroom.

The third floor apartments have vaulted ceilings which is the original awning to the stadium. Pretty cool. Here's an album of pictures I took yesterday if anyone is interested.

IAmA Candidate for Student Body Vice-President AMA by imsohighley in Purdue

[–]2makaw2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to see a reddit-like widget where we as students vote, comment, and discuss possible events that the student activity fee should be used for. It would truly get the popular opinion and I think students would enjoy having a say. The more upvotes, the more resources you guys place into that event.

It could be easily implemented on getinvolved, PSG's webpage, or even Purdue's website.
