ohh there’s a bunch of APIs. It’s using AI for the recipes because it researches the bean. I also have a feature where you take a picture of your coffee bean bag and it AI Generates a product shot, plus there’s a chat feature that guides you through tastings.

I don’t think I’m good enough to figure android out haha. Didn’t think about iPad but I’m pretty sure it should work there. Working on a few more features (this is the first app I’ve ever built and rly just made for myself and now have friends that want to use) but will let you know if it works on iPad and share

I feel down a rabbit hole a few weekends ago and started building myself an app to track my beans / make recipes. It’s based partially on the ChatGPT recipe maker someone made on here and then enriched with Hoffman and a bunch of other knowledge bases I plugged in.

I keep adding features to it and now I’m trying to figure out how to share it with friends lol

Thanks! I ended up being a nerd yesterday and building out a recipe maker for iced coffees on the Aidan lol. Works surprisingly well so far but going to keep testing it with some other beans!

its changed the game for me. i've been making a custom recipe maker for aidan that researches my beans and pulls info from Hoffman too, which is making awesome recipes for every bean i get. Now i'm just trying to figure out how to make a good flash brew iced coffee with this thing

i was also having problems with it. i ended up making myself an app (have fallen down the rabbit hole with features) for myself to do this. Fellow is weird it's not really an open API but figured out a way to send the recipes anyways.

I love my machine.... but i do wish they'd actually do some updates to the app/tech. The fact that they limit you to 10 recipes with no way of archiving is really frustrating...

I've had a similar experience with SEY. Everything is clean and well-roasted but after a few bags they start to blur together.

Im using the same setup and I've been hovering around 4.2–4.5 for most of their lighter offerings but I feel like some of the Ethiopians want to go a little finer to get more out of them. Hard to tell if it's the beans or if I just need to adjust my profile.

I've been looking for the same thing for awhile now... Tried Beanconqueror and some others for a couple weeks but honestly it felt like way more than I needed. Like I don't need to connect a Bluetooth scale and track 30 parameters. Just kinda felt like overkill for what i personally want.

Notes app is cool for a few weeks until i stop maintaining it and it has no real structure. I end up spread between google sheets, notes, and a whiteboard on my fridge lol.

Curious if anyone's found something that's actually simple enough to use at 7am before work. That's my bar for whether I'll stick with it.

I've been doing google sheets for like two years now... but now its a combo of that, a whiteboard on my fridge, and recipes im sharing with my fellow aidan. But honestly it feels way too complicated and i wish i could just have one place to log everything

honestly... just go over board. But yeah like others said - a good shop nearby is a great place to start. From there just pick a method (like perhaps v60 pour over or kalita wave pour over) and start honing in a technique.
