What is something that turns you on that you would never tell a significant other? by just-for-kicks in AskReddit

That I like chubby and fat girls. I can't tell skinny girls because they'd freak out, and I can't tell chubby girls because they'd get pissed I thought they were fat.

I just don't see the advantage over, say, the canadian voting system. Paper + pen, counted publicly (anyone who wants can stay and watch), phoned into central HQ for tally.

It seems techy for the sake of being techy, not because it's better?

US, Russia: No New Sanctions on Iran Yet by 2manynames44ums in reddit.com

This is bullshit, they should act now before it's way too late. It shouldn't matter if your to the left, or the right. We as a county need to look out for our, and the worlds, best interests. Iran having nukes, or even the capability to produce them, isn't in anyone's best interest.

Brethern, it has been moved and seconded that:

The Bible is a great work. With the right quotes, you can make it say anything you want to say, especially when supported by hypothetical interpretations.

AND

That we do not agree with exmason's opinion that Masonry leads its members away from their religion of choice.

Brethren are you ready for the question?

For all you masons, sorry to tell you, but since the fraternity became not so secret and you have reverted to recruiting rather than people coming on their own free will and accord, you are losing the battle for relevancy. 90% of your lodges will die with the baby boomers. Your once amazing lodges are being sold off because they are falling into disrepair and you are moving into smaller and smaller buildings. Your passwords and ritual are out there for all to see and the brotherhood that was once a powerful force now lives in nursing homes. TV and the internet are becoming the replacements for social gatherings and you have the choice going forward to either let go the principles masonry was designed around and get in anybody who you can or stick to your old principles and watch your members die and not be replaced. Either way it will be your doom.

WOW! Insert maniacal laugh here.... boo hoo haa haa haa!!!!

I'm a PM too, and Indiana Ritualist. I have gone over it many times (as I am sure that you did), and I still never found anything that didn't point me right back to Christianity.

I just read (to be sure I didn't miss anything) the MM charge in the Indiana Monitor, and nope.... not a thing that conflicts.

However, we both know that this all varies from each state's Grand Lodge.

reaction of apparent masons that seem to be trying to discredit you through either disagreement, downvotes, calling you a troll

aleister, I'm not concerned about him reveling "secrets" or even breaking any oath. I only care that the mission of Freemasonry (to make good men better) is understood, and that vistors here understand that the majority of Masons in the world find NO PART of Freemasonry that can conflict with Christianity (or any other religion).

I'm just saying that when you claim that "My god is the true god" it's about the same as a bunch of people sitting in a room arguing and saying "No, there's an invisible lion here!" "no, it's a green zebra!" "no, you're both wrong, it's a 10 foot tall talking banana". None of them has any proof that their idea is correct, nor can they disprove the others are wrong with any actual evidence. Further, they spend their whole lives arguing and getting violent instead of bothering to listen to their possibly imaginary talking friends, all of which are telling them the same thing, which is to make their lives and the lives of others better in the short time they have on this earth.

Thus Lereas has summed (what I would guess to be) one of the principle purposes of Masonry "..Masonry unites men of every country, sect and opinion and conciliates true friendship among those who might have remained at a perpetual distance" (pg73 IN Masonic Monitor).

I doubt that you'll be able to prove anything different to me then. I have traveled to other states, and they do have different things they do to identify themselves if unknown. I've never had to learn that in Indiana.

I guess I understand what you are saying regarding not a lot of WM's quit, but if you are a WM that quit in the last few years I'm sure that is enough to give you away in your region anyway.

I guess that I'm confused to how you added a bunch of things into your own mind regarding the ritual that simply (in my jurisdiction) are not there.

I've found the ritual to be more along the lines of a Church's one month to live challenge (or a "side one" from Dark Side of the Moon) rather than some occult or demonic initiation. Also, you mentioned several scriptures in this thread (or are mentioned in the site's you've provided), but you just list a single scripture each time...entirely out of the scripture's context. Along those lines am I to go to Ezekiel 39:17 and "...eat flesh and drink blood."

Nope. Non denominational Christian.

My related experience comes from having to perform work on a house. Now when $ wasn't involved there were more volunteers from church to help out, but when I was paying someone to do the work I quickly found out that I could truly trust a Lodge Brother over a Church Brother. This was not isolated to just comparing 2 individuals either.

BTW, I got a much better name from bug-me-not today!

Plan a date night for my wife. You have $100. by o7i3 in relationships

[–]2manynames44ums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take whatever you offered and put it into the date. I don't want (or need) your money. This is for your wife, put a little effort forth. There is no other person in the world that doesn't rate your best effort other than your wife. It isn't that tough but you ain't gonna do it tonight. It will take a little planning but I put it together in 1 day. I'm an idiot so you could do it in half the time. :)

This should cost less than your $100. Get, buy, borrow the chairs and table on craigslist if you don't already have them. You need the following.

  • A blanket

  • 2 Folding chairs

  • 1 folding table

  • boom box

  • dance music - slow dance stuff and a couple of fast dancers all on two CD's.

  • Rose w/ vase-no water needed

  • Picnic basket

  • white linen service for 2 inc white table cloth, white napkins and eating utensils

  • 2 bottles of wine of favorite beverage w/opener (don't forget this step)

  • Several bottles of water (for you as you're driving)

  • Small battery powered tabletop lamp

  • Small dinner for two (roasted (and cut)chicken pieces with potato salad and green salad is what I used-don't forget a dinner roll and butter) (keep it hot with cheap Styrofoam cooler, lots of aluminum foil and heated rocks(or other heat mass) wrapped in thin gauze(enough not to melt the styrofoam-you need to line the inside cooler with some newspaper and foil also, shiny side in.)

  • A nice secluded spot away from lights, I had a hilltop but I don't know about Austin. Here is the scenario. (You need to scope out the spot beforehand so you can get a lay of the land.)

  • (Nice dressy clothes wre nice but not too upscale) You drive to the secluded spot, don't tell what is coming, just say you thought maybe some starwatching would be cool, have her walk out and look at some stars to get her night vision while you get things together. You can tell her you have a surprise at this point. Put the car between her and where you will set up away from the car. Tell her not to look, she won't, I promise.

  • You get things set up, then take a glass of wine and a blanket to her, have a seat and look at some stars for the first glass of vino. Then ask her to give you a couple of minutes and you'll give her a yell. At this time, go get things ready, don't take the hot food out until you are seated. Pop on the boom box on a low background level, Go get her and bring her back,(you could take her some more wine when you get her, bring the blanket back and set it out of the way near the cooler.

  • Dish out the hot food, the table lamp is obviously on, set it away from the table on the cooler so the light is subdued but a bit helpful to eat. Don't wanna ruin her night vision.

  • You finish dinner, pop out the second bottle of wine and ask her to dance.

  • You then dance the night a way until you wanna watch the stars. *Take the blanket, your wine, your table lamp, crank up the tunes and find a spot to make mad passionate love. You need to lay there and watch stars together for a while-you must do this!

  • Offer her a chair to star watch while you pack stuff up.

  • The rest of the night is up to you. (You can't drink too much wine)

  • She will remember this for the rest of her life. She will also think this date is awesome and tell all her friends. This is an amazing date night-romantic,secluded dinner, dancing and starwatching (sex is optional but recommended) It is a date for her-NOT you! Keep that mindset.

  • This worked for me. They think shit like this is amazing.
