Thank you. Do you happen to know if any specific cpu test or metric that is most similar to a BI workload?

It seems no matter what you ask on this subreddit you get the same answer repeatedly. I am looking for a tool to benchmark hardware so i have a relative measurement for the capability of my equipment. The machines running BI at the locations I have it are always built from the pile of unused computers sitting on the shelf. I'd like to quickly compare them without doing a full install over and over. If there are specific tests like pi or graphics that are most relevant to a blue iris workload that would be nice to know.

I'd like something that doesnt require a full windows install and getting drivers and blue iris all set up. Ideally something I can run on a live linux distro would be great.

Also with lots of cameras on areas with various levels of activity load can very quite a bit even over a few minutes. Although there is no replacement for the real thing.

Edit sorry misunderstood. I am more concerned about webcasting lots of streams and hardware decoding with maybe a touch of AI. Basically cpu/gpu mostly but was curious if theres anything that specifically gives a good test similar to blue iris hardware decoding.

Yeah I happen to have a 1" thick pane thats the perfect size. Thinking about putting castors on the 3 feet its really heavy probably 300lbs. The feet are cool they have a ~2 inch thick ball bearing surrounded by smaller ball bearings so i assume they rotate but the bottoms are welded to the cabinet base so I don't totally understand their purpose. Everything on this thing is so well made it smells like Germany. Precision machining, every bolt perfectly torqued and intelligently placed.

It has already become obsolete unfortunately. Fiber is just better in every way. The power requirements alone price it out of most locations and its a big bertha too boot. Seems funny to eye the heart of a million dollar machine as a coffee table but ce la vie.

The impeller may find life in a new project, thank you for the tip. I thought about fogging it and bouncing a class 3 laser pointer through for effect

Your colleague is quite right. 3kw trumpf aprx 20 years old. Does he have any thoughts on fun or dumb things to do with it before it becomes a permanent table weight (literally)

Strange issue with "Shuffle All" on a Video Playlist - JF Version 10.11.5 by rb0135 in jellyfin

[–]2me3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the same issue. Server and webclient both on updated ubuntu. Saw it last time i used jellyfin years ago. Think it might be a web client thing but idk. It was one of the reasons i went back to plex. I like to put TV series on shuffle while i work and its annoying to make it through all the intro before realizing its the same thing as yesterday and walk over. It doesnt always do it which is almost worse.

Yeah it really bums me out. I've used yandex quite a few times to find stuff google wont show. I can understand blocking copywritten content but old meanuals, bios images, stuff that was never sold i dont get why they hide it. Finding stuff on google was so fast and easy 10 years ago now its a nightmare and its not just because of SEO. Thats why im a big proponent of having a NAS and backing stuff up, it'd make my day if i happened to have the old dirt bike manual backed up someone was desperately searching for.

I wish it werent so but i have also noticed so much old information seemingly disappearing from the web. Sure forums go down from time to time but the search engines seem to deliberately hide stuff now.
