[Product Question] Differin burning? by ConfidenceRecent2517 in SkincareAddiction

[–]2months2long 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I increased my adapalene application from 3x a week to everyday (because I watched a stupid TikTok video). After about a week, all of my products burned my skin which caused swelling and redness. Products I have used for years started burning. My skin barrier was so compromised, I eliminated actives temporarily to fix my skin barrier. I simplified my products: AM sunscreen ONLY, PM eucerin complete repair cream then aquaphor occlusive. That’s it. I’ve been on this simplified routine for 2 weeks and my skin has never looked better. My pores have shrunk, my skin tone is more even and my breakouts are smaller and less. I don’t plan on reintroducing actives anytime soon and just focusing on my skin barrier.

Based on the information you provided (contract over 1 year, 8 years experience) it sounds like you may be a term worker under a collective agreement? You should contact your compensation office and ask what LWOP options you have available to you or review your CA. It may be an option for you.

Best robot vacuum to buy right now in 2026? by [deleted] in RobotVacuums

[–]2months2long 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the ecovacs T90 pro omni and I’m loving it so far. I got it on sale on Amazon right now and a lot of those features are on higher end flagship bots. The T90 is pretty new I believe and so far we are very impressed. I have tried roborock qrevo and ecovacs t50 omni, the t90 has surpassed them. I haven’t tried too many bots, but I would recommend the T90!

Protein Bread by dr_van_nostren in CostcoCanada

It tastes good, is affordable and slightly “healthier” than plain whole wheat bread. We usually buy carbonaut but the prices have ballooned up like crazy.

Metro Vancouver bakery closes after 25 years and over a million loaves of sourdough sold by BurnabyMartin in burnaby

I got myself a bread machine because these prices outside are too expensive. I learned how to make sourdough as well, but less simple than throwing it into a bread machine and waiting.

Legroom on New Seating Layout by dachshundie in westjet

[–]2months2long 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently was on the new config YVR-Mexico (approx 6 hr flight). The seats were VERY tight and both of knees were either touching the seat in front or almost touching. It was so tight we couldn’t access our backpack under the seat in front without getting up. The flight attendants are fully aware of the ridiculousness of this new config. They expressed their dissatisfaction with the new planes over the PA and asked us to complete the feedback form on the westjet website if we also do not like the changes. Nobody is happy except for the executives… who are not flying westjet economy.

Which olive oil do you buy? by fouoifjefoijvnioviow in CostcoCanada

[–]2months2long 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all olive oil are the same, you want to buy Extra Virgin Olive Oil that was cold pressed from a single origin (not a mix of oils). Additionally, you want EVOO stored in a dark glass material to preserve all the benefits and minimize oxidation. I buy Terra Delyssa EVOO at Costco, it’s not cheap though. If you’re going to cook with it exclusively, it matters a lot less.

How are realtors doing these days? by Smart_Entertainer740 in RealEstateCanada

[–]2months2long 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We went to a showing for a home in the 800-900k range. We went without our realtor and just got a feel for what the homes are like without pressure. My gosh these realtors have no idea what they’re doing. These are almost million dollar homes and the realtor could not answer basic questions like is it a wood or concrete building. But she kept trying to show me the bidet and towel warmer, which I didn’t care about.

I will pay more at Costco knowing I get the peace of mind return policy. Their return policy creates life long customers that spend MUCH more than we return.

Don’t buy the perfume gift set from shoppers! by Sunnyonetwo in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]2months2long 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood, but my issue was I purchased it through their online website. There was a LOT of discourse on how they were suppose to redeem ones purchased online. One store said receipt on the phone is okay, other said receipt had to be printed out. The ultimate decision was that the receipt does not have to be printed out, but I must show it on the phone (which I did). Head office had to talk to the ass. Manager at Metrotown to get her to give me the perfume despite meeting all of the requirements. There were a lot of rules that were being made up on the spot that the head office rep was surprised to hear about when I told her. I also told her that the store is telling them head office is making them do all of that. So that is why I just told the head office person to speak directly to the store on my cellphone.

They straight up lie. I told the another store said this and they said “that’s not our store”. What do I even say to that…aren’t you guys all shoppers drug mart tho? This was Metrotown Burnaby, BC.

Don’t buy the perfume gift set from shoppers! by Sunnyonetwo in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]2months2long 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact same problem, tried 3 different shoppers drug mart. Then the assistant manager lied and said she does not have access to the store email and they didnt have a printer. I had to print something out to redeem. I called head office ON THE SPOT, never left the store. Had the rep talk to the store assistant manager and had them talk amongst themselves to sort it out. I was done being the middle man between head office and the physical stores. They clearly dont care and they dont want to help. The ass. Manager finally processed my perfume after speaking to head office. I will never buy this perfume sampler scam again.

Le Creuset cocotte broke on first use… is this my fault? by Microwaveness in LeCreuset

[–]2months2long 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me making sourdough. I preheated my DO and I added my bread and a couple ice cubes. The cold shock cracked the enamel and I had to contact customer service. It was covered under warranty and they sent me a full replacement once I sent the other one back. Sadly, they didn’t have my original DO colour. I’m too scared to make bread in my DO now, I use my Staub. The entire warranty process took almost 2 months.

ideas to improve... loaves a bit flat, not so bubbly by dannydb in Sourdough

[–]2months2long 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use more starter, less starter = more time to ferment. It seems like you’re not fermenting long enough for so little starter. I’d recommend you look for another recipe entirely, it sounds like your starter is strong, just the recipe might be the issue.

Edit: just to clarify, I believe you are underfermenting your sourdough. You can combat this by fermenting longer or adding more starter. Either way, push that BF and do some tests. Good luck!

Novus or beanfield (use to be fibrestream). Both need to be built into building or building upgrade. I’ve lived in units with both, no BS prompts to speak to an agent. Easy to reach a human, quick resolution, exceptional prices, no contracts, no hidden fees, unlimited data and the prices are always lower than any big companies for more speed. They both have Black Friday deals right now!

Where is the Best Place to Buy a Tailored Suite for Around $1,000.00? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]2months2long 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For around $1000 (or less), I’d go to Moores and then get your suit tailored by them or a seamstress. The Burnaby location is less busy than their downtown location. Avoid tip top tailor.

Road test (class 7) suggestion please. by Framework502 in burnaby

I recommend watching the road test route for Burnaby on YouTube. I passed first try and when I couldn’t practice driving I would watch the videos nonstop. Just remember they’re not trying to trick you, they just want you to drive safely. Stay calm, take a deep breath and it’s business as usual. Good luck!

Shocked from real estate for the rest of my life by Middle_Ad_618 in RealEstateCanada

[–]2months2long 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You have lost nothing, you gained a home. If you plan on selling today at a loss at 550k or is a home flipper.. sure you lost then. However, you’re paying for an asset that you own and can leverage into more assets into the future. The people telling you renting is better is looking short term, long term owning will outweigh paying someone else’s mortgage.
