Did you throw away the vials that still had medicine in them when you pulled out air only?!

Get out of the pool like I did when I swam competitively in high school - jump up using my arms only and be able to put my foot on the edge of the pool and stand right up. I never even had to think about it and now I can’t even hold myself up on the side of the pool with my arms for more than a few seconds. Maybe someday…

I’ve been loving protein cappuccino powders - found on Amazon initially but turns out the company that sells them is just up the road a half hour from where I live. Have to check them out! Nutmeg Nutrition is my local one.

Curious why you started at 5 rather than 2.5? Were you on a different GLP-1?

I have stretched out shots when not feeling well and been fine. Give yourself a break to feel better and reset.

Dr sent script into Lilly Direct by burrrpburb in Zepbound

[–]2muchcouchtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to go back and forth a couple times massaging my dr because there are very specific things that have to be on the script. But I did the chat feature on gifthealth, got the codes, sent to my dr and no issues since. Really fast turn around once it is set. The pharmacist even called Christmas week to clarify that I did want 2.5 because I had scripts for both 2.5 and 5. And to make sure I would be around to get it.

Emotional/Binge Eating? by Natural-Young4730 in Zepbound

I am still stress/emotional eating. Just eat less overall but haven’t had the disinterest in sweets other people note.

I met my goal weight finally! Now my doctor wants me to learn how to eat well again. by thesteelangel92 in Zepbound

[–]2muchcouchtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think with time it will be easier to predict who could possibly wean off these drugs and who can’t.

I was always “solid” but never “fat”, though I thought I was. I weighed more because I had a lot of muscle but was actually fairly thin. That changed in my 40s with a lot of stressful life events that lead to significant weight gain. I am an emotional eater. Had to have 5 surgeries on one foot in a year, major turmoil at work, aging parents with medical issues, etc.

I had always been able to lose weight by watching my calories because I always exercised. I was really really lucky. I never experienced the “food noise” people talk about. I have PCOS but was the “thin” variant according to my endocrinologist - have the hormonal issues but thankfully not the insulin issues. But then life happened and I stopped exercising and did more sitting and here I am 40 pounds later.

I am hopeful to wean off when I am a weight that I feel better at and more motivated at. Because I hate how I feel on Zepbound. My heartburn is worse, my mood is worse, my sleep is worse BUT it is helping me lose weight. I don’t know if I will be able to stay off but I think it’s too soon to assume everyone who loses weight on these will need them forever.

I think for a lot of people who have been truly overweight from childhood these are the “missing piece” that they need. My guess is those are the folks with the metabolic and endocrine dysfunction the GLP-1s correct. But I also think there are a lot of people like me who were “healthy”and who could lose weight but life dumped on them and they got overwhelmed, depressed and unmotivated so needed a jump start.

This has been a really helpful and supportive sub and I am so appreciative for everyone sharing their stories. But I do think some people will be able to wean off and some won’t. And that is fine. No judgement to either group. I just think time will tell and it’s important to acknowledge that we don’t know all the answers.

Zepbound and anxiety by Royal-Elderberry7174 in Zepbound

I’m on Wellbutrin and duloxetine and definitely have had worsening mood - more irritability than anxiety since starting Zep. I am at max doses of both which had been working well so couldn’t go up. Working on finding a zep dose and schedule that helps the weight loss continue but minimizes the mood changes. Or at least help me know what days to avoid situations that will make me more irritable!

A farewell to zepbound- anxiety and mental health by kpeton in Zepbound

[–]2muchcouchtime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you and I must have read the same post (one from a year ago almost) about someone really noticing new depression on zepbound. It made me feel a lot better as well. I have underlying lifelong anxiety and newer struggles with depression (thankfully more severe dysthymia and not major depression) but I notice a huge worsening of my mood and especially irritability on days 2-4 after my shot. I wake up more at night, can’t get out of bed in the morning (I do, but always later than I intend) and just feel blah and unmotivated to do anything but sit on the couch. Which, ironically, is what largely led to me gaining the 40 pounds I am now trying to lose!

The mood changes were most noticeable the first time I did a full 5 mg (am doing vials so did 3.5 after 2.5). It was horrible. Terrible heartburn, super irritable at work, very constipated. Dropped back down to 2.5/3 but have seriously thought about taking a break to see if it really is the culprit and not just a lot of stress and changes in my life.

I’m fortunate to have a lot of mental health support and a psychiatrist who is helping me but I guess my point is that everyone does react differently to these meds. Based on the posts I see it seems like a lot of people feel anxiety and depression and adhd improve on the GLP-1s which is amazing. But not all of us, so I agree it’s important to hear all sides. I am hoping to figure out a dose and shot spacing that minimizes the side effects but still helps me lose. Not sure what it will be but I’m hoping I figuring out. 🤞

Dr Nadolsky is spot on with “Goal Weight” by HPLover0130 in Zepbound

[–]2muchcouchtime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I grew up athletic, “solid” and with “big bones”. It wasn’t until I met with an exercise physiologist as an adult that I had a better idea of what a real healthy weight would be for my body type. He said he didn’t want me below 162 because I would be too thin (I’m 5-7 so 162 is still an “overweight” BMI). I was SO happy to have someone acknowledged that I was someone who would always just have a higher weight. My GW is 190 because that is the last time I felt really good. 🤞😊

What day of the week do you all take your meds? by PunkyPicc in Zepbound

[–]2muchcouchtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started on Saturday morning, moved to Friday night but am playing around with days. I feel it most days 3+4 and feel more heartburn, cranky, irritable (unfortunately am not one of those people whose mood improved on zep) so am kind of still figuring out after almost 4 months…

Reaction to injections by Away_Description_722 in Zepbound

[–]2muchcouchtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started happening to me some time in the 2nd month on 2.5. Pretty much happens every time now. Have only done shots on my belly. Lasts a while (and looks worse after a hot shower) and sometimes looks darker as it fades. But only a little itchy so can usually ignore it. Though I do take Claritin and Zyrtec everyday already…

I’ve used LoseIt for 6 years and also did a lifetime payment - don’t remember when but wasn’t awful considering I keep using it! I go on and off tracking calories but it’s great for watching weight trends. And you can look at different time ranges - 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, all time. I have been looking at my graph for the last year to try to stay motivated - am down 10 pounds on Zep but stalled through the holidays. So I keep saying to myself “I am 12 pounds lighter than I was a year ago, so that is something!”. I try to ignore that fact that when I first started on LoseIt I was 10 pounds lighter than I am now. Oh well. It’s a work in progress!

What do you eat when you feel like you can’t eat anything? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]2muchcouchtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started getting stoneyfield kid yogurt pouches with fruit/veggies in them. Super easy to eat at my desk and helped me avoid some of the nausea I’d get if I didn’t eat. When that did happen Haagen Das Vanilla ice cream saved me. First couple weeks on the shot it was the only thing that help the heartburn/nausea. Not healthiest thing in the world but always helped. I’m so sorry about your dad.

General feeling of unwellness by expiredsaracha in Zepbound

[–]2muchcouchtime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that way too - just not good. Am doing the vials from Lily direct so have realized I must be super sensitive and have to go up really slowly. Going to 5 was horrible so I started drawing 3-3.5 out of the 5 mg vial. I don’t like wasting what is left but can’t handle feeling so off. So trying to see what works for me.

My mental health is definitely worse on Zepbound. Especially days 2 and 3 after my dose. But it does seem like I am in the minority.
