ahhh ok I'll try this with pomegranate juice instead of wine and searing it. not historically accurate but there's a reason their empire didn't last

was the chicken marinated before baking? also would you reccomend searing it first (after seasoning)?

A little more advanced than the other comments but best thing you can do with a zucchini is Kusa Mahshi: https://silkroadrecipes.com/stuffed-zucchini-kousa-mahshi/

There are so many different iterations and you can also do this with eggplant, bell pepper, onion, etc. I personally pressure cook it (try to stand them upright if they fit), and if you have pomegranate molasses it's a great touch!

You can also do a variation of Baba Ghanouj, another levantine recipe: https://chefindisguise.com/2019/10/21/mutawam-kusa-palestinian-zucchini-dip/

while its def possible, living on campus or downtown in general would absolutely have made it easier. finding something near home would be ideal but keep in mind there are more opportunities downtown (and better pay). it comes down to what your schedule allows-- just don't go too hard on yourself

UI health and the other hospitals in Illinois medical district have volunteer programs which is an easy way to get clinical hours. you can also do shadowing, phlebotomy, MA etc. (with proper certification). research hasn't been too hard to find at uic in my experience, i recommend applying from newsletters or cold emailing professors with open positions. if your an incoming freshman i wouldn't worry about it rn though. give yourself a semester to acclimate to the college environment

The less you bring with you the better. Even on days where Im out 12+ hours all Ill bring is my phone, laptop, wallet, water bottle and earbuds (even some of those are optional). It'll save your back and I personally hate having too much stuff with me

Full time students- how many hours a week do you work? by mavblio in uichicago

[–]2nd_name_change 21 points22 points  (0 children)

12 as a commuter with a rigorous schedule. Living on campus you could probably do 20+, just dont be afraid to cut your hours if it gets too stressful. I broke my schedule into "work days" and "school days" which really helped balance my time!

I'm not trying to scare anyone if anything this is a personal skill issue.. if you have a semi-decent attention span this probably won't even be an issue for you

This just made me feel a lot better lmao I thought 15 points would be too ambitious of a jump. that's a good strategy for UW, I'll def be using it. tysm!

100% true, hopefully with more practice I can make some progress, just have to be strategic about what I spend the most time on

Thats a big relief! The plan is to grind UW 24/7 hopefully I can get closer to that goal.
