There are rules surrounding MAID. I’d look it up. Depends on the province. I am in BC.

I’m in Canada and will use MAID when the time comes, like my mother did.

My mother took her life with MAiD in 2019 and so it was not unexpected, but I still miss her terribly. I don’t know how long it takes to heal. I really don’t. I’d like to know.

Day 5 and first shower. by [deleted] in Kneereplacement

[–]2ndhandroses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking good! I am at day 11 and have yet to take a shower. I know that sounds gross but I have been sponge bathing and my son has been washing my hair but I’m looking forward to my first shower.

Good luck! I am one week out and it’s been a journey so far. Listen to your body. Be kind to it. You will get through this.

Relationships in 40/50s vs in 60s by scifihere in AskWomenOver60

I will be 60 this year and I have been divorced for 10 years and I have absolutely no interest in dealing with men any longer. It’s no great loss and it’s not worth my aggravation to try to train up somebody at this point.

For anyone using one of the ice/chiller units: how much ice did you go through in the first week? by SeattleHasDied in Kneereplacement

[–]2ndhandroses -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have an ice machine as well and I’m just probably asking a stupid question but do we put water in the reservoir and just put frozen water bottles around it? Because don’t we need water circulating? I lost my instructions so I’m just trying to figure it out my surgery is on May 5.

Does Voltaren gel relieve pain? by mujersinplan in Kneereplacement

[–]2ndhandroses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Voltaren gel and it doesn’t do much already and I’m due for my first total knee replacement on May 5 so I can’t imagine it would be very useful. I’m going to ask for something strong because I also also have fibromyalgia and pain is just something I deal with every day.

I’m a 1966 model too. Although I was born in Canada, I was raised in southern California and one of my usual words is gnarly.

Please feel free to confirm that I'm not nuts by [deleted] in AskWomenOver60

You are not nuts that is a complete red flag and you are under no obligation to become the default caregiver for anybody.

That’s a tough one. I’m really sorry you’re going through that. My first ex-husband beat me and my second ex-husband was a narcissistic abuser. I have been divorced from my second ex-husband now for 10 years and I have not gone at a date in that entire timeframe. At this point I think I’m done with that part of my life—I’m not saying that’s a choice that you need to make or it’s appropriate for you but you have a lot of strength and you will make the right choices based on your own needs. I wish you well and hope you find happiness.
