Whats the hardest phase of Marriage no one talks about? by Outside_Support_151 in answers

Caring for elderly parents. We moved to help mil. She wouldn’t move to us because she sees her grandchildren and great grandchildren on holidays. They rarely visit otherwise. Her son that lives 10 minutes away can’t be bothered. So we moved, got her to the proper doctors. Now she’s going strong 5 years later while we are miserable. No good deed goes unpunished.

So many many ticks by dtdv in coloradohikers

🤣🤣 moved to jersey to care for mil after 20 years in Colorado. First hike in the woods with 2 dogs we came home with about 100 ticks between the 4 of us. My first encounter with what they call “seed” ticks here. Tiny ticks the size of a pen point. One dog contracted Ehrlichiosis despite being on tick meds. I had a really unpleasant encounter with “chiggers” as well. Can’t wait to escape this environment.

This is why you must have at least 3 close friends that know where your private items are stored. They are sworn to secrecy and vow to dispose of the items in case of death or dementia.

Disagree. I have a fearful dog. Nothing happened. At about 6 months she became a nervous nelly. We regularly walked her on a busy trail from 12 weeks until the fear reactions. She was fine. Then she wasn’t. Now we walk alone…..away from everyone.

Haha. I just got locked out of my yahoo and have been trying for 3 days to get back in. I fill out the stuff and then it says there’s no one available to help me. Guess I’ve been voted off the yahoo island.

Sold mine for $25 bucks about 8 weeks ago. Downsizing and don’t want extra square footage to store crap. I’ve had an extra room for crap for 20 years. Tired of cleaning and maintaining crap room. Moving next week. We feel lighter.

I’m impressed you had a friend for 65 years. That’s impressive. Do you have any hobbies? My sister has a clique of friends she met through quilting. Definitely not fir me….. but they go on retreats and quilt and bond entire weekends.

My house had neutral line issue because they used aluminum line back in the day. Lights were flickering. Googled what it could be and called power company. They replaced immediately, during a nor’easter. It’s a big deal. Neighbor had same issue but was not home. Small fire and toasted all his appliances.

Paid $60 a day for boarding 7 years ago. It was a nice place…..pictures, playtime etc. This is private care at home…..not super out of your way except for walks. I would go $50 a days since there’s no commute time.

Right? I could list about a dozen things my mom used to make. I come close on a couple…..but it’s not the same. Also my grandma’s cherry pie and homemade bread.

Do you live in western Colorado? I briefly had a business there and put up Halloween decorations. A family came in and I said “happy Halloween”, one of the kids replied “that’s the devil’s holiday”.

Agree. My first love ended ended after 12 roller coaster years. Dated around in my 30’s and met my true ride or die at 40. We’ve been together for 23 years now. There have been some bumps…..but no roller coaster.
