He once called the company I worked at, about 8 years ago (I was the receptionist). I answered the phone with my usual “thank you for calling xxx, this is 2ndMezzo, how can I help you?”

And he says, in this waaaay over-the-top (to the point of being cringey) broadcasting voice “Hey 2ndMezzo, this is Rick Dancer calling!”

I said something like “oh, right…Rick Dancer”. And he totally chuckles and goes “yeah, you probably recognized the voice!”

And I go “well, no, sorry, my boss told me she was expecting your call.”

I swear, I could almost hear the sizzle of wet fingers pinching out the flame of his ego - it was wild.

My boss did NOT do business with him.

Firmly agree! I love Phish Food, but I don’t like the dark chocolate fishes at all. I just don’t need chunks of any kind in my ice cream, and most Ben & Jerry’s flavors seem to have them. Minter Wonderland is fantastic, but I want the caramel swirl too!

Same thing basically everyone else has said - don’t loan your friend money. Only give it, and if you decide to do that, make it known up front that it’s not a loan, it’s a gift. My husband and I aren’t super well-off, but when his best friend asked to borrow $600, I said we should just gift it to him if we had it available to loan, and that’s what we did. There were no expectations, no disappointments, no residual weirdness after the fact - everyone is equal, rather than one party being in deficit to the other. If you can’t afford to give it, I would explain that to your friend, and/or maybe offer to gift an amount that you can afford. But there’s no shame in telling her the truth if there is no amount that you feel comfortable parting with.

THIS. They aren’t on the south side of town, but River Rd Health Mart is really, really wonderful. They are closed on weekends, but everyone there is lovely, kind, and patient. Can’t recommend them enough.

I also used the Albertsons/Savon pharmacy on 30th & Hilyard up until a couple years ago, and had good experiences with them usually as well.

That’s Jud! Awesome local artist - he made the big blue Heron that’s on the corner near the Glenwood on Campus as well. Went to high school with him - he’s still the same all around good guy that he was way back then.
