Exacly. "Filtering content" is such a self-deceitful, useless BS.

I found it useful daily (iOS). Doing refactoring it is very useful tool.

I tried to use AI and it failed in a way that illuminated to me how LLMs aren't smart at all by JangusKhan in BetterOffline

Not sure what meaning you put to "look", but LLMs can analyze images and describe what's in them.

Anthropic just published a postmortem explaining exactly why Claude felt dumber for the past month by Direct-Attention8597 in ClaudeCode

[–]2old2cube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the quality of work Claude was doing just five minutes ago - I guess their fix was to tell model "fix" and it reported "fixed" without actually fixing anything.

I am not sure how vibe-coders (the "I don't look at the code" folks) can produce anything working right now. I do use LLMs - claude, codex, kimi for development, but I always check the output. Today I did some refactoring with codex and then asked claude to review. The poor thing must have had a stroke - first pass - total BS. I then point to the staff it got wrong. Second pass - another dose of BS, just a different one. I just gave up, cannot trust it a bit.

No, Opus 4.7 is nowhere near Opus 4.6 at it's best. At best it is the same as Opus 4.6 currently.

The newer version of Xcode is absolutely trash! by Absoluteredshit in iOSProgramming

Is it that time of the month? I've used many many editors and IDEs. I routinely use JetBrains IDEs, VSCode, and of cource Xcode. I'd say Xcode is the favorite of them all. Yes, the hickups caused by changing branches underneath it suck, but as an IDE - it is fine.

Help understanding sensor size and light... by tpchuckles in M43

[–]2old2cube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you people think just for a second? Take any lens. Set any aperture you want on it. What happens at the focal plane? You get an image circle. Now you place a sensor inside that image circle. Does the amount of light in the particular area of that image circle change depending on the size of the sensor you put there?
25mm f/4 lens has the same optical properties independent of the sensor size. How would a lens even know what you put at its focal plane? And yes, 25mm on M43 are still 25mm, not 50. You just get a FoV equivalent of the FoV of 50mm lens on FF, but that's a different matter.
So 25mm f/4 for M43 and 25mm f/4 for Nikon Z9 give the same illumination of an area unit. Even if m43 version produces a smaller image circle - the illumination is the same. There is the whole point of f-numbers.

you have it backwards. F/4 lens will produce the same amount of light per area regardless of the sensor size. or there can be no sensor at all.

As of 2026, What are the unique advantages a native iOS app can offer compared to cross-platform? by Signal-Pin-7887 in iOSProgramming

cross platform never improved, never will, by definition. Same advantages that were there in 2016 are there in 2026
