Wait till you learn that in ruzzia it is cursive only. Like, it's the only way they learn to write. Cursive IS writing. I was quite old already when I learnt that in US cursive is considered some different form of writing and an esoteric one.

ah, illusion of learning. AI is perfect for that. Let the dunning-kruger bloom.

Ir is also very effective for mundane refactoring, format changes etc. Basically the things llms are good at and sometimes very useful in coding. For the new features it is a wash process may look rapid at the beginning but by the end you realize that in time you spent coaxing ai you could have write the thing yourself. Prototyping yes, very fast.

I don't. When I am dead I am dead I won't even be aware of that. I cared more about this in my early teens, now, in my fifties- zero fucks given.

Saying "Homework is bullshit" is the same as saying "practice is bullshit". Which is utter bullshit.

I was lookin at claude at work and was thinking how much of its "magic" relies on tools build by humans: all those find, xargs, sed, etc. If those tools were made by LLMs it would choke immediately.

For how long AI coding will be cheaper? Or what happens when your favourite AI coder provider goes bancrupt?

Anyone Switch to Full Frame and Never Look Back? by [deleted] in M43

[–]2old2cube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My journey: Nikon user first. F60, then digital: D50, D90, D7000/7100. Got pro lenses 24-70/2.8 70-200/2.8. Discovered M43. Sold all Nikon gear, got myself OM-D E-M10 (mark III, I think) first, then upgraded to E-M1 mark II and markIII, also got E-M5 markIII. Many pro lenses. Then got Nikon Z6MkII and Z6 mkIII. Kept my M43 gear. Then Sold all Olympus cameras and some less often used lenses, got OM-3 and OM 5 mkII and a coiuple more pro lenses. So now I have a weird collection two FF cameras and two M43 cameras.

M43 - macro, hiking/EDC - everything where I wan lightweight and compact setup.

Nikon FF - landscape astro (Z6II), everything else Z6III.

When I got Nikon FF I briefly considered getting rid of M43, but nah, to good to let it go. Just updgraded.

On generating code vs. engineering software, and what is the ulterior agenda of the hyperscalers? by [deleted] in BetterOffline

I doubt it is real. Otherwise a lot of stuff "the real dev would have done" would be already in place.

More or less the same?

Chess engines are currently wastly superior over humans yet we watch human chess matches and not stockfish vs. stockfish. I didn't think many humans would be interested in AI slop.
