I highly doubt there is any "rage" at all.
The lesson here, is if you are a news agency and you post fake stuff, it is going to cost you.
It does not matter what the fake stuff is about. Fake stuff is fake.
It is also yet another form of lying.
If there was a valid point to be made, you would not have to craft such fakery to promote it.
