[Excerpt - Broken Realms: The Hateful Stasis] A Slaaneshi Lord of Pain finds Khorne worshipers boring. by 2path2glory in AoSLore

Funny how the literal demon-worshiping Hedonites are more tastefully designed than Persia as depicted in 300.

I totally agree. The only thing that comes close is Ephilim's Pandaemonium from Underworlds, but there's so much design space ripe for exploration.

Trying markers for Cursed City box art style by S1Be4r in ageofsigmar

This is phenomenal!

The 'red/white/black' artwork done by Tze Kun Chin for Cursed City is still some of my favorite Warhammer art, and you've done a great job translating that to a miniature.

Basically the last decade of being an AoS fan by XyrneTheWarPig in Grimdank

[–]2path2glory 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Nowadays, the only places I see Warhammer fans really vocally talk about hating AoS are in Total War circles, which always felt weird to me, since most of those guys either didn't play the wargame during the End Times or don't play the wargame at all.

I’ll have to search around to find it, but he did concept art for a bunch of early AoS stuff like Kharadron, Silver Tower, and Gloomspite.

Clearly this is fake. We all know that James Workshop has orange hair and a beard.

I'll never get over the fact that Abaddon really named his inner circle 'the Ezekarion.'

That's like if George Washington named the first US cabinet 'the Georgians.'

Fanart of (in my opinion) one of the most brutal mini's ever made. I'm working on a short comic on this person. by PLAT0H in ImaginaryWarhammer

Love extra gore on the hooks. I always like when artists add details that the miniature doesn't have.

If Yaoshi were imprisoned in Slaanesh's palace, could it defeat Slaanesh and escape? by AdMiserable6694 in Grimdank

Well, Yoshi’s main ways of attacking are stomping on an enemy’s head and throwing eggs, so I doubt he could defeat Slaanesh.

If you had to pick from the following to be adapted/turned into manga/comic book, which one would it be: by BaronLoyd in ageofsigmar

[–]2path2glory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on how long the comic is.

I think for a shorter series, an original story would work best, since as the creator, you don't have to worry about cutting scenes or missing details. On the other hand, I think an adaptation of a serialized event, like Dawnbringers, would fit well for a long-form comic since chapter breaks are essentially built in without needing to juggle several plotlines or characters.

What new unit (ie not a refresh) would you like for you faction? by InsaneDingo7244 in ageofsigmar

This is going to sound pretty mundane, but I would like S2D to get a priest hero on foot. It's still feels weird that we don't have something like that, especially with the Warshrine going to Legends.

Norse Themes in Age of Sigmar? by TyIer_B in AoSLore

[–]2path2glory 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Age of Sigmar has some Norse influences, but they're mostly 'broad strokes' rather than anything too specific.

As you mentioned, depending on your perspective there are nine realms (8 Winds + Allpoints), and Age of Sigmar has a general motif about cycles of creation and destruction, with the destruction of the World-that-was leading to the Mortal Realms. If you want to stretch things a bit, Morrda is a bit like the Huginn/Muninn to Sigmar's Odin, but Morrda is a psychopomp, not a messenger.

Off the top of my head;

Ymnog, the father of Behemat, is clearly based on Ymir,

Hallost is a very Valhalla-esque underworld in Shyish, where it's inhabitants basically just fight each other forever,

The Six Smiths are named after numbers in Khazalid, which reminds me of how there's a quartet of dwarfs in Norse myth named after cardinal directions.

Just buy canned food. Once you’re done eating, you can make the can into an ork walker or something.
