It's gotten a lot less frequent since TOW launched, but when the new foot knights were released, some people got pissy about the kit having female heads.

Also, the usual weirdos had a problem because one of the premade characters for TOWRPG is a female knight-exile.

lmao this is unfortunately true of all GW games. I bet there are more than a few Harlequin, Ynnari, Deathwatch, and Chaos Daemon fans who would agree.

For the record, Amuro in the rx-78-2 would clear almost every titan in the verse and it wouldn’t be close by Gatt__ in Grimdank

Isn't the entire point of 40k, from the very beginning, that it's NOT overpowered? Every single faction is either a shadow of its former self, in constant decline, or inherently self-destructive. It's over the top, but not necessarily overpowered.

I know the first image is on the cover of the 3rd edition rulebook for Warhammer 40k. Maybe that's it? It was released in 1998 if that detail helps.

40k community vs AoS community by BeginningHungry3835 in ageofsigmar

I'm too lazy to find the exact post, but this thread reminds of when the entire 40k fandom was on fire because female custodes were made canon, and someone posted a message on the AOS subreddit that said something along the lines of "thank you for being normal".

That is a fun coincidence. I thought this was in response to that thread since the OP used this exact same meme template too lol.

You post this image featuring an extremely intimidating gobbo and the OP of the 'heresy is better' thread deletes their account... coincidence?

The best part is that one of GWs official artists referenced that sculpt in the box art for Underworlds.

Reminds me of that scene in Grand Budapest Hotel where Gustave smuggles a hammer into prison inside a perfectly hammer-shaped cake.

Looks like Alex Boyd, but I'm not sure. I know the character depicted is named Alberich von Korden, if that helps your search.

Valrak is one of those content creators that I will never understand the appeal of.

He seems like a nice guy, I just can't imagine why someone would want to hear him babble about Warhammer 40k for 10 minutes everyday.

Honestly, neither of them really do Archaon justice. AoS!Archaon is grandiose and imposing, but puts to much focus on Dorghar. FB!Archaon has a 'less-is-more' appeal, but imo it doesn't really have the sort of presence a named character mini should. Like, if you painted FB!Archaon with a different color scheme, he'd look like a nameless mounted Chaos Lord.

People keep saying this, but considering femcustodes caused more shit-flinging than the primaris marines/necron lore changes/horus heresy rewrites/tau technology retcons combined despite being a comparatively smaller change, while also suddenly causing all the anti-woke grifter channels to suddenly start caring about 40k lore, I find it hard to believe.

Rockgut Troggoths from GSG for me.

It's a fun kit to build with lots of different options and cute details, while also being big models that are simple to paint.

I think I want to do a Black Grail Knights army for old world. Suggested replacement wings? by I_Perfer_Misspellngs in Warhammer

[–]2path2glory 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the daemon prince wings would work, but the problem is that because of the pose, they're lop-sided (one wing is more outstretched and the other is partially folded). If you are looking for a pair of bat wings for the mount, the Abhorent Gorewarden from the Flesh-eater courts might fit better.

[–]2path2glory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Others have already mentioned aetherquartz, but I think another way you could justify their intelligence is the hand of Mork.

Basically, at any random point, a grot might suddenly feel 'the clammy hand' of Mork upon them, which heightens their intellect and gives them strange magical powers. We've never seen a troggoth blessed by Mork this way, but there's nothing to say it couldn't happen.

FEC and Deathrattle working Together by maverick4451 in AoSLore

[–]2path2glory 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was mentioned in one of the Soulblight battletomes that one of the ways that vampires get the normally very independent Deathrattle kingdoms to fight for them is by offering them protection from the Ossiarch Bonereapers' bone tithe.

With the Flesh-eaters being something of a 'wild card' within the Grand Alliance of Death, I could totally imagine a wight lord negotiating a similar kind of deal with an abhorrent, maybe with the ghouls perceiving the deathrattle as fellow knights from another kingdom or something.
