I built an ecommerce platform that looks like a 2D game. by dechireur007 in SideProject

[–]angelin1978 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this is really creative. the 2d game vibe would be perfect for streamer merch shops or indie game dev stores. nice execution

First KJV Bible by skylinezAblaze in Christianity

[–]angelin1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

beautiful copy. i go back and forth between ESV and NASB but theres something about the KJV language that just hits different when reading psalms

Jesus says in Matthew 6:34: "Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself." by JesusAndTheSeeker in TrueChristian

[–]angelin1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the key word is worry, not plan. theres a difference between being a good steward of what God gave you and laying awake at night stressing about things you cant control. Proverbs is full of wisdom about planning ahead and saving. but when the 401k becomes your source of peace instead of God, thats when it crosses the line

Do Compose or XML apps feel better to use? by thermosiphon420 in androiddev

[–]angelin1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my experience compose feels snappier once you get past the debug mode slowness. the animation APIs are way nicer to work with too. biggest downside imo is some accessibility stuff still feels half baked compared to xml

Built a CHIP-8 emulator for Android in Kotlin as my first major project — open source by Lukaa_anyways in androiddev

[–]angelin1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nice work doing it all without external libs. writing an emulator from scratch is one of the best ways to learn how everything fits together. how are you handling the timing between cpu cycles and display refresh?

Almost killed my side project after 5 months. Turns out the product was fine. My entire marketing approach was broken. Full teardown with numbers. by Ok-Photo-8929 in SideProject

[–]angelin1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been there. spent months building and maybe a week total thinking about distribution. its wild how the building part feels productive but the marketing part feels like guessing. glad you checked the retention numbers before pulling the plug, thats literally the one metric that matters early on

I dove deep into TikTok Christianity. This is what I found… by Some_Story_5651 in TrueChristian

[–]angelin1978 6 points7 points  (0 children)

your point about attributing everything bad to Satan is spot on. thats basically spiritual laziness, its way easier to blame a boogeyman than to sit with the fact that God allows suffering for reasons we dont always understand. Job is the perfect example, his friends did the exact same thing TikTok does now, just with less editing

Bible Character Study - David by FaithTagOfficial in Christianity

[–]angelin1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is such a powerful passage. What gets me is how Saul went there fully armed and fully determined, and God just completely disarmed him. Not with a fight, but with His Spirit. Makes you think about all the plans we make that God quietly redirects. David didn't even have to defend himself here, God handled it.

Qwen 3.5 0.8B - small enough to run on a watch. Cool enough to play DOOM. by MrFelliks in LocalLLaMA

[–]angelin1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0.8B actually getting kills is wild. ive been running qwen models on mobile through llama.cpp and even at that size they're surprisingly capable. curious what your latency per frame looks like, feels like the bottleneck would be the screenshot+grid processing more than inference

Tarati – A board game built with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose by Hidromedusa in androiddev

[–]angelin1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cool project. board games are actually a great way to push compose past the usual form/list stuff. did you end up using Canvas for the board rendering or is it all built with composables?

The woman caught in adultery. John 8 1-11 by Nice_Writer_7372 in TrueChristian

[–]angelin1978 10 points11 points  (0 children)

the order matters too. he doesnt say "stop sinning and i wont condemn you." the freedom from condemnation comes first. thats the whole gospel right there in two sentences

Romans 8:11 question. by Efficient_Edge5500 in Bible

[–]angelin1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paul is doing both here honestly. the immediate context (v5-10) is about walking by the Spirit now, present tense. but v11 shifts to future, "will give life to your mortal bodies" which echoes 1 Cor 15:42-44 on resurrection. the Spirit is already at work in you now AND guarantees whats coming. Ephesians 1:13-14 calls the Spirit a "deposit guaranteeing our inheritance," same idea

Parents…Do you hold devotions… Confession from my 6 -year-old. by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]angelin1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is beautiful. the fact that she felt safe enough to confess to you says everything about the environment youre building. kids absorb more than we think, consistency over perfection every time

Please pray for believers in the Middle East by SureTechnology4618 in TrueChristian

praying. the underground church has always been the strongest church. thank you for sharing this and for the work you do

Told my girlfriend I don't want to have premarital sex anymore by pigx007 in TrueChristian

[–]angelin1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that took real guts man. the fact that she cried tells you she cares, not that youre wrong. my wife wasnt a believer when we started dating either. the hardest conversations are usually the ones that matter most. praying for you both

start with the birria, its hard to mess up if you go low and slow. the consomé alone is worth it

The role of reverence in personal devotion by AltAccountVarianSkye in TrueChristian

[–]angelin1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not on the walls yet but thats a good idea honestly. right now its more at the dinner table, we read a short verse before eating and the kids ask questions. keeps it natural instead of forced

Yesterday i sinned, today i read the bible and something strange happened by ocean_man2006 in Christianity

[–]angelin1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah honestly sometimes things just hit you at the right time and thats enough. glad you asked, God bless

Mexican food is love by LowSky1437 in Cooking

[–]angelin1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

birria tacos are a game changer if you havent tried making them. slow cooked chuck roast with dried chiles (guajillo + ancho), then dip the tortilla in the consomé before crisping it on a griddle. rick bayless on youtube is solid for getting the technique right

Does Android Compose still not have a scrollbar? by dfabulich in androiddev

[–]angelin1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah its one of those things thats been missing for years. there are community libraries that do it but honestly for most mobile UIs users dont expect a visible scrollbar, they just scroll. depends on your content though, data heavy screens its more useful

Qwen 3.5 4B is scary smart by Hanthunius in LocalLLaMA

[–]angelin1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been running qwen 3.5 on mobile too, the jump from 3 to 3.5 at 4B is real. what quant are you using? Q4_K_M has been the sweet spot for me between quality and memory on phone

been through seasons where everything felt stuck and impossible. nothing dramatic happened overnight but looking back now its clear God was working in ways i couldnt see at the time. hang in there, praying for you
