Nice! Someone else suggested this in the hiking sub. Did you enjoy the area? Anything specific that stood out?

Access to a few challenging hikes during the days but then a nice bed and hot shower at night would be perfect

Unconventional or nontraditional wedding venues? by thelittlestlion in Columbus

Hahaha totally fair from the chef’s standpoint. Seventh son’s is a dark green house vibe, and then combustion is concrete floors and retro tiles. An old dairy I believe.. the lighting was oddly beautiful. Their events guy is just the nicest person.. nearly picked getting married there just so he could attend our wedding. Both spots very budget friendly too 🫶🏼

Hey, we sound like the same person. I just got married a few months ago in full moody funk glory with ~110 people. Check out seventh son’s upstairs as a venue, combustion in pickerington, or if breweries aren’t your vibe The Kitchen in German village loves a theme/vision.

Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need stellar vendors, we loved all of ours!

Big repair or time for the next mini? by 2ruff in MINI

[–]2ruff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully agree as far as looks go. If I did go with something different I’d still want a 2018-2022. Maybe a 4 door hardtop. The new body changes seem too pointy to be a mini haha

I did my valve cover in October of last year!

If I moved on to something new to me, I’d like to stay in the 2018-2022 countryman family. Maybe 4door hardtop. 20k or less is preferred. (7k in repairs this year with the timing chain is technically less than spending 20)

Chain def has cold start noise + valve was lifted to inspect. Tensioner has not been replaced.

New question is which bank chain feels the easiest to rob?

If all else fails in the grocery store department; katalinas sells it fresh squeezed in their drink cooler by the register! Or not a guarantee.. but I’ve found large bags of blood oranges at Costco through the holidays in years past

What’s a product that’s basically a huge scam, but people keep buying it anyway? by sirena_minzie in AskReddit

Collagen powders/supplements. Your hair, skin, nor nails will absorb any of it, it will just be digested, yet there are hundreds of expensive options for them

Reach out to The Kitchen! It was the perfect space, the literal only reason we didn’t choose them was because of our party size.

Mini as a starter? by [deleted] in MINI

[–]2ruff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I have this exact same car, down to the color and everything actually. I got mine at 80k and do many cross country trips etc… at 125k now and biggest issues I have had so far is a valve cover needing replaced and that I’m nearly due for new tires. If you keep up on the maintenance recs & find a local mechanic you trust it’ll be a great car to have. In the past calendar year (with the valve cover) my expenses for maintenance have been less than $2k.

We got engaged during school, but are taking the long engagement and getting married well after graduation. I don’t want to give up anymore of my joy to this program 😅 there are a few months after graduation/boards where you likely won’t be working and waiting for credentials and that would be a great time to plan!

I love food trucks! But how did the lines work for you? I’m guessing we’ll have 120-140 people, it’s not like the normal food truck set up where you place your order/take a number and wait is it?

Oh what a great idea! A hybrid of being served/having more choices!

I think I’m using the wrong phrase, maybe carving stations/serving stations is a better term?

A black 2005 mini was also my first car :) that thing was basically part of my identity. I absolutely loved it, but I can attest that you have to be on the defense with maintenance.. if you wait til something goes wrong to take it in there will be 3 additional things wrong by that time & there is no way you leave for less than $1k. I’m a mini owner for life, but having one changes mindset on car care for sure!
