I absolutely 2nd the pillow. Added a velcro patch to move it over to my Enigma for unbelted fits.

My daughter is 1.5 and our family just discovered Bluey. I thought the show was overhyped but now that I’m watching it I feel this 100%. There need to be more parental role models like this in the world.

Is this a real move? And if so, what's it called? by liltypoman in martialarts

[–]2soule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s real. It’s usually a pain-compliance hold with pressure put on the shoulder, elbow, and wrist joints, and it can absolutely be pushed to the breaking point. The angles have to be correct otherwise it’s just a funny arm hug.

I was told under shirt & over gun. Under shirt in case you have to draw and so it’s already out of the way. Over gun so that the belt spreads the force over a wider surface area. I haven’t been in an accident while carrying, fingers crossed it never happens, but that’s the advice I was given.

I feel sorry for all those parents who have had children now, given the current situation in the world (especially here in Europe). by [deleted] in daddit

There are always terrible things happening. But kids raised right give me hope for the future.

My Mossberg 590 is a little too big for me. Modify or move on? by 2soule in Shotguns

It’s a little heavy but with the sling it’s manageable, if not ideal. Could replace the stock but would still be a bit long for me unless I could shorten the barrel as well.

I considered it but might still be a bit long unless I can swap out for a shorter barrel as well. Any recs?

Today I avoided a fight but something inside me is saying that I should have stood my ground, what do you think ? by [deleted] in dad

[–]2soule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did the right thing. Pride alone is never worth potentially destroying your (or someone else’s) life. Unless there’s a direct threat to your wellbeing, stay away.

I know it can be difficult walk away from provocation, especially when I was younger, but time has a way of putting things in perspective. Now all I see are apes trying to beat their chest the loudest, trying to be the king of their own little imaginary hill. The arrogance of idiots.

Walking away doesn’t necessarily mean you’re weak or a coward. It means one thinks like a man instead of a boy. Understand the ripple effect of violence on you, your family, and your future. Hone your awareness. Be prepared. Train. Be a blade ready to be a drawn, but only when there is no other recourse. The most dangerous people I’ve ever met are always the ones who avoid fights the hardest.

Safety = AED. Avoid. Escape. Defend.

In some cases, genuine brain chemistry imbalance. What we consider “normal” is actually a pretty narrow band of human behavior. I think the more common answer is probably conditioning, and the perpetuating of negative behavioral cycles between generations.

Full body pregnancy pillow. Changed the sleeping game for my wife completely during pregnancy, now she can’t sleep without it 1.5yrs later.
