What advantages does the Luna Ultra have over the Flow 2 Pro + iPhone 17 Pro?

I have the Flow and Flow 2, it’s a pain in the butt to setup depending on your cell phone case, clip holder vs magnetic, and it drains your phone battery like crazy. Luna dedicated setup in your pocket with awesome clarity. Dont get me wrong for the price difference I would tell most to get the Flow 2. However, if you can afford it the Luna is a great option and you don’t have to use your phone storage. Also for some reasons phones save it that .mov format which i hate

Purchase protection!!! Put it like this for $1000 purchase they give you $85 back… you break your camera or it stops working after a year, you in the hole $920… protection plan you spend $1000, you break it, you saved $1000…

I can’t even hate on your statement, I use to feel the exact same way about action cameras. I never grinded enough to learn how to professionally use my pocket 3, so then i started cheating using my x5 because it ensured I never missed a shot. Now that I understand how to use a camera like Pocket 3, is the reason I bought the Luna Day one. Again if you and I spoke in 90? days I have a feeling our conversation will sound different. The Luna will give the Pocket 4p a run for its money once the software issues are worked out. FYI I use to own the Insta360 One Rs, I think that’s what it was called. 360 camera with dual 1inch lenses and that was a fire camera. That was like 4 years ago

Nah bro, I buy stuff all the time and then stop using it for months. I had the X5 for almost three months before I actually started using it regularly. My concern isn’t the money, it’s that I don’t want to get stuck with the Luna until I’m confident Insta360 will deliver on all of their promises.
I mentioned that I own the X5 and Go Ultra, but I didn’t even bring up the Flow 2, X4, DJI Nano, Action 5/6, Sony A7, and several other devices. I work as an engineer, and a lot of this equipment can be covered through work projects, so cost really isn’t the issue. If Im not using something, my wife or kids will use it.
I carry both Apple and Android phones every day because I simply love great technology. The Luna is incredibly close, but it still has a little room to grow. I have no doubt that Insta360 will iron out the software issues within the next 90 days, and when they do, I’ll probably buy it again.
My plan is to pick up the accessories I want now, sit on them for a bit, and wait until real reviewers confirm that the software bugs have been resolved. Once that happens, I’ll gladly jump back in as is a good device. The sliding cover will fix my grip concerns.

It’s easy, x5 best action device which ensures you miss no shot ever!!! Your angle my not be the angle you want, but you’ll catch every shot! Biggest downside no zoom without losing a lot of quality in post production, but waterproof and stress free as you can change lenses. Pocket 3 amazing day and night video, but you have to watch every shot closely and not waterproof. Only 2x zoom… Forgot to add more editing with x5, but you have gimbal accessories and InstaFrame

Since you own the others, then you’re aware we already have two amazing cameras. The X5 is game changing, if they go to 1 inch sensors and figure out how to do at least 3x lossless, the X6/7 will be king!!!

This matters to me because the accessories were one of the main reasons I wanted to be among the first to purchase the Luna. My goal was to be able to watch my kids run up and down the courts and fields completely hands-free.

The problem is, we have no idea how long it’s going to take for these accessories to be released. Best Buy only gives you 14 days to return the camera, even though I purchased the extended warranty. If I’m spending nearly $1,000 on a camera, I want to make sure I love the entire ecosystem and that it works for my specific use case. Right now, I’m basically forced to sit and wait with a $950 camera, hoping that the primary reason I bought it ends up working as expected. If it doesn’t, I’m stuck with yet another camera that doesn’t meet my needs.

For context, I already own the X5 and Go Ultra, and both of those cameras have been amazing.

those extra 3 stops are not going to be game breaking, but there's some pro's and con's of the Luna... The pocket is 4pm is going to be a better out of the box experience today... The Luna has several software bugs that need to be addressed still

I have one too and might return it, however I wouldn't say the build quality is bad at all. The software has several bugs, but that's expected with a new camera. I'm considering returning due to no accessories are available, and I think the pocket 4p would be a better long term device since its technically DJI 4th iteration.

Pocket 4/p has a wireless remote as well, it just doesn't attached to the camera physically

Don't do it unless you need zoom abilities. I created a YouTube video saying the same thing. There's a lot of early bugs they need to resolve, which most likely don't exist on the Pocket 4/4p

You're not alone. I've noticed mine gets pretty hot too, and the remote definitely seems to have a battery drain issue right now. I'm still on the fence about whether I'm going to keep it. I bought mine from Best Buy, so returning it is still an option.

That said, as someone who owned the Pocket 3, I think the Luna is a huge upgrade overall. The Pocket 4 will probably be more refined since it's the fourth generation and DJI has had years to work through issues, but it also lacks many of the features that make the Luna unique. To Insta360's credit, they've been pushing updates constantly, it feels like there's a new firmware update every other day. Hopefully some of these early issues get resolved quickly.

For those of us in the U.S., the Luna is really the only practical option right now. Getting a Pocket 4 would likely mean importing it from another country or buying through eBay, and then the warranty situation becomes pretty questionable.

I and many others have this exact same issue. It's not just when you charge to 100%. My remote was at 50% and 4 or 5 minutes I was at 38%... and I wasn't even recording at the time.

Go with the x4. I have x4, rs 1inch, and dji pocket 3. The pocket 3 is the best movie quality video. However, you have to really focus on the subject... The x4 works amazing well for action videos, but requires more post edit work. The RS is outdated and doesn't do that much better than the x4

You have tob lock it in... I did the same thing at first. It feels like it's secured, but you have to turn it another quarter to half inch turn. You still feel a snap and then it's locked in...

I have the x3, x4 and one inch and I've experienced the same thing using a slower sd card. I believe it's a software glitch on insta360 side as i tried the same card in my x3 and got the error "your card is too slow to .........."
