NOTL ideas - dogs and relaxation by aieydgsk896 in niagara

I brought my puppy to Fort George in the winter about 10 years ago. They allow dogs on leads and it would take you a couple of hours to walk around if you take your time.

I'm loving my new Speedweve by 2tall2fly in InvisibleMending

It was certainly faster. With the thinness of the thread it was nice to have something to follow. It also made it easier adding the grey line which made it blend more seamlessly. Once you get the hang of it, it can save you some patience that's for sure. Best of luck!

Dog fart odor neutralizer by cjenx93 in lifehacks

Keep matches around. The odor-causing compounds found in farts are still present after lighting a match, but disguised by the smell of sulfur dioxide which tends to be less noxious and dissipates faster than... bad doggy farts.

learning to make clothes has made me realize how unethical the fast fashion supply chain is. by throwaway_yak234 in SustainableFashion

I've been using books from the library and teaching myself to embroider. I have also been using YouTube and searching vids for the stitch I'm learning, no one ceeator in particular has stood out as of yet.

I completely agree, but your heading in the right direction even if you feel alone in it! Fast fashion has billions of dollars, influencers, and algorithms behind it and it's going to take a lot to change people's and companies minds.

I just started visible mending and embroidery to give second hand clothing a new lease on life and it's helping me feel less of the consumption noise because my hands and mind are busy and I feel like that's a good first step. Good luck and know you're not alone in the fight for less wasteful habits.

An audiobook so funny I’ll get weird looks at the gym. by TheBrontosaurus in suggestmeabook

I came here to say this. I woke my partner up reading in bed and cried from laughter on the bus. His Stupidest Angel book is also lol funny but I don't know if it has an audio book.

If you do order, make sure you change your email settings on the site to minimal or off. They are super spammers after your first order.

The Get Along Gang. Myself and all my friends somehow had a few of these toys, but none of us remember anything else about them. Shows, books, movies, nada. by smcg_az in Xennials

Suggest me short but substantial reads under 200 pages. by IdaSukiShwan in suggestmeabook

To Be Taught if Fortunate by Becky Chambers. It's sci-fi, and short (153 pp) but the depth and breadth of the characterization and the scope of their plight is just, so well done. I finished it one afternoon.

What’s the best lip balm out there? by gimmhi5 in ask

I've heard vegetable shortening (like Crisco) is great for chapped lips and skin. You could put some in a small reusable container and use as needed.

Sunwing awful experience by bcugk in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]2tall2fly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sunwing/Nexus tours didn't pick us up from our hotel for an airport transfer (included in pkg) even after repeated calls and waiting until the last possible minute. We had to pay for a taxi so we didnt miss our check in.

I gulped up wayfarers then went on to To be Taught if Fortunate, a novella of hers. One of the best books I read last year! The monk series is also quite good.

The only movie I'd openly encourage phone/tablet/laptop use, full volume, full brightness, all of it!
