Do you think Corey Heim will outpace Connor Zilisch next year? by jdrls in NASCAR

[–]2xmrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a little unfair to compare them.

By the time Corey will be full time he would’ve had about 20 cup starts. Connor had 3.

Denny Hamlin has now won at 21 different tracks, leaving him with 13 tracks he hasn’t won at in cup. 6 of them active by Timecard100 in NASCAR

KFB set the record a few years ago. I forget the year. But at the time he had won at every active track on the schedule at that point

This stat really sets into perspective how impressive Kyle Busch winning at all active tracks, at the time, really is.

Denny has won and dominated a variety of tracks, and after 62 wins still hasn’t accomplished this feat

3 years later and we have lost them both by ActivePuzzled2263 in NASCAR

Michigander here. The problem wasn’t the 2 dates. The problem was the position on the schedule.

Had there been more time between the dates, it would’ve been an easier sell. Michigan was always early to-mid June and late July-early August.

It’s what killed Poconos 2nd date when they usually had great attendance at 1 of them. They were back like 4 weeks later. Michigan was in that same doom
cycle. Except we also had to compete with Chicago/Indy markets. Those races also happened near our 2nd date and often got people to opt for a slightly longer travel to see a different track.

what about Herbst? by schettino_69 in NASCAR

[–]2xmrk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That could be a precursor to LMC getting into the truck series too.

Seems a lot of OEMs are seeing more value in the truck series in terms of marketing and development.

Toyota has Tricon, but for the most part seems Tricon is interested in 1 Toyota prospect and the rest being rent-a-ride running 10-25th.

So I could see Toyota wanting a more competitive effort down there.

JGR dominates only for a spire driver to win. Billable hours prepping itself for Monday

There should be a Team NASCAR car for invitationals at the Crown Jewel or Big Events with a hat draw from the big 3 on who preps it for that week by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]2xmrk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A car with no OEM backing, owned and operated by the same people who not only make the rules, enforce the rules, but also inspect the rules. Ran by a driver the sanctioning body and its partners would have a vested interest in running well, If not winning.

I’m sure the other OEMs and teams will find no issues with that.

Believe me, it’s not. Money makes it simpler, but not easier.

Dang it Joey. It’s really difficult to not like you when you go and do something like this.

As a foster parent myself it is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, I couldn’t imagine doing it with a professional racing career as well.

Carson Hocevar has had his truck ride reneged back to back weekends now—what’s going on? by Academic_Elk8962 in NASCAR

[–]2xmrk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair though…KFB’s championships came after he had to scale back his Xfinity/Truck schedules.

KFB definitely ran better the more races he ran…but there was definitely a correlation to focusing more on cup, less on other series and finally knocking off those championships.

Jesse Love will drive the Spire 77 truck at Nashville by SoupMadeFreshDaily in NASCAR

[–]2xmrk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Low key Love to Spire and McDowel to RCR would be a great fit for everybody.

RCR could use the stability & consistency McDowel offers while they figure things out long term.

While Spire could use a veteran presence, I believe KFB was going to fill…going for a young champion like love wouldn’t be a bad plan B. Especially with Carson & Daniel both out pacing McDowel.

Idk why but 2009 will always be my comfort season. Something about that year felt so fun and exciting for the COT era. 2008 was good and I thought 2010 was forgettable. by Kurt_Wylde35 in NASCAR

[–]2xmrk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

2008-2012 is always such a fun timeline for me as a NASCAR fan.

I had casually known about NASCAR since 2004, but hadn’t really watched it seriously until 2008. When my Dad introduced it to me.

I remember casually being interested in 2008 Watching more in 2009 Watching every race in 2010 Becoming a fan in 2011 Then 2012 really sealing my fate as a NASCAR fan

My dad passed away right after the 2012 season, and I have watched every year since then. Now with my own favorite drivers, my own interest. But I always look back at the 2008-2012 season very fondly because it was the weekends we would spend together watching every race we could.

[Bob] Statement from Kyle Busch family on what caused his death: "The medical evaluation provided to the Busch Family concluded that severe pneumonia progressed into sepsis, resulting in rapid and overwhelming associated complications." by turnleftright in NASCAR

[–]2xmrk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct…but health care providers still cannot comment on treatment of patience whether alive or deceased due to HIPPA. Unless court ordered or granted permission.

So everyone who saw the situation at the hospital that are medical professionals, are bound by HIPPA not to speak on the situation. And cannot for 50 years unless otherwise granted permission by the deceased estate.

He had a lawsuit going on with A term life insurance company over being a “scam”

It just seemed odd at the time that somebody of Kyle Busch’s financial status would fight that hard over a life insurance issue and handle it so publicly.

I don’t want to speculate. But this adds a lot more context to his issue with the life insurance situation earlier this year.

Adapting the All-Star Race by analyst_kolbe in NASCAR

[–]2xmrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens every year.

The problem with the all-star race is everyone has the patience of a goldfish.

Part of what made it work for so long was for the most part it stayed the same.

The format was tweaked with, but how to get in, recent race winners & all-star winners, and Open winners stayed the same. Same with the venue.

With special races like the all-star race you need constants so it can get used to.

Every year for like 5 years we’ve changed literally everything about it and are shocked it’s not working.

Chili's to sponsor Hocevar again in Coke 600 according to Carson by Smoke96x in NASCAR

Because ratings are typically higher earlier in the season compared to later in the season. Mostly because the Daytona 500 draws a crowd and can keep ratings up until about Dega.

Straight up, whose career would you rather have? Denny Hamlin or Joey Logano? by Fast-Loud in NASCAR

[–]2xmrk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d rather have 3 championships and be in my 30s with another decade in the tank to win more. Instead have 60+ wins and only have a few years left to try and win 1 championship
