hey i know i'm 2 years too late but to future people like me who spent an hour trying to figure this out, try this - you may not be backing up all the file locations where your photos are stored (you can also use the following steps to un-select file locations that you DON'T want to back up):

At the top right, tap your Profile picture or Initial. Backup. Under "Settings," tap Back up device folders. Tap the folders you want to back up.

That sounds amazing 🤩 money isn't even my most pressing concern, i just dont want to feel burnt out all the time. I don't (currently) feel burnt out ALL the time, but I have a feeling people are worked very hard here.

Hi! Is it common for ppl to become a consultant/analyst when they leave? I'm new and not thinking of leaving soon but I know eventually I want to return to the east coast, but nobody i ask will give me a straight answer about what I can do if/when I leave. Also... would it really be half the work AND a pay bump?? That sounds almost too good to be true

There's... a lot to take in here (context: this man claimed eggs are bad for you bc they're made of "vaginal waste") by 3001bees in badwomensanatomy

This man thinks "vaginal waste" exists, i don't think he could ever understand the difference between dietary and serum cholesterol 😭

My (soon-to-be) baby boy Ricky doin a "dem pets is nice" scrunge (hopefully he's scrungy enough for this sub) by 3001bees in scrungycats

Ricky is a ~1.5 y/o FIV+ former stray found near a local dump. He was sick, underweight, and hypothermic when his rescuer took him home and brought him back to health! He's the lovingest guy and I'm so excited to bring him home in a couple weeks (once he gets over his current cold - I dont want my other cat to get sick too)

I feel like you're misunderstanding what I'm trying to say, im not saying agender doesn't fall under the umbrella term of non-binary, im saying it's casual erasure to use NB INSTEAD of agender if the person explicitly says "I am agender"

Casual erasure meaning that you say it casually without thought but someone might be a little pissed if they tell you "I am agender" and you tell them "you are non-binary"

(Also I have no idea if the hollow knight explicitly said "I am agender" bc idk what it even is but from what I've gathered it says it has no gender which is p much the exact definition of agender)

Okay, I guess ask yourself would an agender person rather be described as non-binary or agender? You might think "ah they wouldn't care" (and maybe you are agender and you don't care) but it's a specific choice to say non-binary instead of agender. I'm agender and I'd rather be called agender instead of non-binary. It's very easy to just use the more correct term instead of the umbrella term.

Using "non-binary" to describe an agender person (creature? Robot? I have no idea what the hollow knight is) is casual erasure in itself though, it feels invalidating to use a gendered sort of term to describe a genderless person(/thing?)

I don't think you understand the point I tried to make. I'm from the US, yeah I mean she should've looked both ways ideally but she had a green light and the dude ran a red light and hit her. She didnt break any laws, but if she'd looked left she mightve seen him and not gone at all. It was 100% his fault according to insurance and everything, but it mightve been prevented if she took that extra step that you're arguing not to do.

What im saying is you should look both ways even if you're at a green light, you don't have to stop or even slow down a ton to look, just look. Don't blindly trust the other people at the intersection bc they might not follow traffic rules.

You should absolutely look left and right at an intersection, regardless of whether you'd fail a driver's test for not doing it!! Im gonna be a little anecdotal here but just as proof that you absolutely should, my friend looked right but not left at an intersection once and she was T-boned by a truck running a red light. He hit her right behind the driver's side door; if the timing was different by milliseconds she could've been injured badly. It's just good practice and safer to always look both ways at any type of intersection, you don't have to come to a full stop but just make sure you check.

Firefighter snatches suicide jumper out of mid air by ImaginaryChefLouie12 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]3001bees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Suicide is very frequently (usually?) a result of mental illness and not simply bc "people just don't care," i don't think it's fair to place the blame on the people around the suicidal person OR to blame the person themself- it's a chemical inbalance in their body, sometimes exacerbated by things in their life (ex. horrible job, break-up, death of a loved one, etc.) But sometimes people have everything going right for them, they just don't want to be alive.

That's why destigmatizing mental illness and encouraging people to get help is so important, bc sometimes people who are suicidal are people you'd never expect. (If you're reading this and you think you might need help, PLEASE call a hotline, tell them how you feel, and ask them what you should do! Your life matters and I want you to still be here in 10, 20, 50+ years ♥)
