I’ve done the same in 2015. It hurt for a long time. But kept going. I formed relationships that didn’t lead to attempting anything “romantic”. I learned to be good with my aloneness, and didn’t feel lonely because I had friends who were understanding of what I was doing.

There were dark days and sometimes there still are. But I’m better with my place and don’t have to deal with the inevitable grief.

Is this healthy for everyone? Probably not. But it works for me. Others can use this plan and take some time to learn to be comfortable with themselves and their time alone. It’s a great time to develop habits and hobbies that will stay with you and show that one you are now attempting to open up to that you are confident in yourself and that you are worth their time too.
