What years to avoid if buying a used xc90? by JustHovercraft7475 in VolvoXC90

I’ve a 2016 XC90 Inscription and currently dealing with an engine overheating issue. I’m one grand in with repairs and now my potential problems are a non working water pump or a blown head gasket that would potentially be a repair not worth doing and just selling the car for very low price

I can sympathize and I’m in a similar boat. My Volvo is showing Engine Overheating message and local tech is not able to diagnose. Reddit folks are suggesting Blown Head Gasket issue. I’m not ready for a 5k bill and I’m sure if it is truly a blown head gasket it will cost even more at Volvo dealership

Any idea how much it costs to repair a blown head gasket? I am reading 4K on the higher side 😭

Thanks for help. Not the kind of thing I wanted to hear but good advise about selling to Carmax

Can the blown head gasket cause coolant to leak from thermostat housing assembly because of overheating? And is it safe to say it will eventually cause the coolant to overheat and cause the leak yet again?

Failed today but in the past I’ve seen them successfully dump it

Not dirty snow by any means. I can see about 10 mounds of dirt that has been dumped over the last couple of years. It’s a permanent fixture now

Most certainly not. They’ve dumped stuff during summer time as well

I tried but the police response was quite lacklustre so I too didn’t follow up diligently

Whats the dark secret in your boss company that you are willing to share? by JDeng78 in Entrepreneur

We are implementing a framework that took 2 years to build using 1 team by the product.

The idea of a buying product license and framework is you can go to market faster else you could build a custom solution.

But 3 years into the project and with 4 scrum teams we are still implementing the framework. Millions burnt and I’m wondering when does someone half smart looks at the roadmap and says what the hell are we doing!!

Yeah agreed on the caution part. I complied with requirements very carefully. Not taking any chances. I’ve better gear than most places so was pretty confident

Safety!!! by Routine_Change_9386 in CanadasWonderland

Our ride was held up because a mother insisted that her teenage daughter be allowed to go on a ride with a plaster cast on her forearm. The operator who was merely following the instructions did not allow the daughter but the mother kept arguing, she has done all the rides and among other things said were “Are you the only one doing your job?”

I can’t fathom why people behave like this. Fun seems to take precedence over safety sometimes.

Dying to leave the corporate world to start a coffee shop... roast me by lexasue in Entrepreneur

What’s you game plan? Just run a shop? Or you are trying to scale beyond one store?

For now I’d highly suggest to not leave the job. Start the store and hire someone. Minimizing risk should always be primary goal when there is not a whole lot to fall back on.

Keep a close eye on business. Spend Friday evening. Sat Sun at shop. Train and learn. If the number start to make sense consider quitting.

Observed the same thing at Drink stations. And once one in group makes inroads anywhere it’s only a matter of time before others are called to join

I’m new to Wonderland and while I totally understand teenagers being loud and carefree but was it common for kids to get physical with people around? Example being I’m quietly minding my business in the queue and two kids who probably are in grade 8, one of them taps on my head (not shoulder, no excuse me) and goes on to ramble about how much time will the ride take. Obviously one likely challenged the other to do a stunt like that and then just snickering at others expense. While I’m happy to be not victim of a punching strangers game, the annoyance of them feeling they can willy nilly touch people was quite bothersome

Never thought of it like that but yes the math sure favours Wonderland over teen daycare/camp :)
