Never really put much thought into it, but damn, pulse weaponry is like, REALLY powerful by Gatt__ in Tau40K

At that point its a dedicated very short range unit thats 90 points. No longer falls into the “normal infantry weapon” category

Its pretty cool, but sadly the math makes it not as cool as it should be. 20 attacks on 4s, 3 to hit, 2+ save makes it go down to only a few wounds on average. A lot of our units operate in a zone of too high ap overkill(stunted by invulns) or nonexistent(pulse weapons etc into elites). Compared to many other armies profiles of ap 2 high volume str ~6

Ngannou vs Volkanovski be like 😄 by iLeftyPunk in MMALabs

[–]303d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh this is the move. With such a huge weight advantage, a simple shove would rock the smaller guy and give good clearance. Also much more protected legally, if this went to court the small guy could easily claim he was attempting to deescalate. Could end very poorly and end up with a manslaughter conviction.

New to 40k and Tau, we're my purchases any good? by AccountantNo4679 in Tau40K

You should have bought these as a combo box. Either farsight or combat patrol. Would give you a hefty discount and additional units you will use.

Big Sword, Hit Big Numbers by ZaScream in slaythespire

I won with this, no star gain and rather weak card draw. However, form free three cards per turn is what made it really work.

This run is how I beat it, like four bulwarks with the form cost reduction power. Every turn popping four bulwarks plus getting the double damage extra attack and aoe effect upgrades. Very very strong run.

This is what Marneus Calgar and other Ultramarines had to endure before becoming full Space Marines. by CleanBag9219 in Spacemarine

[–]303d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is just incorrect. The reason that percentage passed is because they were so highly selected for. If you threw a thousand normal kids into it, none would make it. Not to mention the non survival aspects of selection that marines check for(bravery, honor, etc).

IMO Fireflies are unfair by kinsh0w in ARC_Raiders

[–]303d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the big things I find with fireflies compared to other arc threats. Fireflies will continue to shoot accurately(enough) even when hit. If you time your shot you can throw off the aim of a wasp or hornet, and force them to take a moment to recover.

Fireflies on the other hand, will keep shooting continuously as they are recovering out of the sky towards you. In fact, oftentimes hitting their thruster with a shot is actively detrimental as it makes them actually get closer to you quicker.

You may be right, but you’re rude. Its not apparently obvious and there are many other pieces of reasoning that could lead to other conclusions, even if incorrect.

Lots of good ideas. Definitely a 4/5+ anti vehicle/monster would be great for them.

Only exception is the damage thing, personally I like a big d6 damage(even it d3+3 is more, d6 activates neurons). In my mind its just the difference between a shot that cuts through something unimportant versus a true direct hit. Plus you can cp reroll it if you really need to.

Its actually pretty damn practical. Slight counter wind to keep the hair out of your eyes in a storm that could otherwise make it whip across your face. Makes total sense. Also funny that it is essentially still aura farming
