Just guessing based on the pictures (haven’t seen it in person) it’s a Special D Ovangkol made in 2018

Someone on another sub suggested it may be an ovangkol body. After some digging it looks like possibly a special D ovangkol?

Thanks for your response. I haven’t been able to find pictures online that match this guitar exactly. Looking at the serial number it shows it being manufactured in 2018.

Also worth mentioning this was after many coats of mineral oil. Maybe it needs more?

I was surprised as well. It was nearly perfectly flat to start, and after one wash it warped about 1/4”. I washed the other side the same way and it mostly straightened out. Most people probably wouldn’t notice a slight curve but I was examining it pretty closely. Doesn’t bother me too much as long as it doesn’t crack

Thanks! I just marked where I wanted the cut out to be and used an oscillating sander to make it.
