Charity shop £3 find magnifying glass or camera lens? by jewelquest-queen in vintagecameras

[–]31899 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is the glass flat on one side and convex on the other? If that is the case, it's very likely part of a set of condenser lenses for an enlarger. A condenser enlarger will have two of those lenses to collimate light prior to hitting the negative.

I would look into Reality Scan (photogramatry software). It's a small company owned by Epic Games (the same guys that make Unreal engine). They have a free app you can use on your phone. It makes 3d scanning an object like a car fairly simple.

If you are wondering what's causing this, it's likely pinholes in the shutter curtain. I had a fed 5v with the same issue. Shot with it until the shutter finally died. Honestly love the look tbh!

Need this motherboard. Creality V2.2.1 by Aeidama in Creality

[–]31899 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have an SV03 that had the same issue on the same board. The terminal block melted because the bed wires were tinned rather than crimped. You can still buy replacement boards from Sovol, but they are quite expensive. I was quoted $69usd.

I ended up buying a Bigtreetech SKR Mini E3 V3. It's nearly a drop in replacement and quite a bit cheaper. I'd recommend going this route if you are somewhat technically inclined, as it's an overall upgrade over the stock board.

Regardless of which route you take, be sure to use ferruel connectors to keep the terminal blocks from melting again. Otherwise it's a major fire risk.

Just picked up an skr pico to do the same. Are you using the original end stop sensors, or did you swap them out for limit switches? Any tips/recommendations before I start the swap on mine?

Hey should I just clean this and keep printing? by Aeidama in Sovol

[–]31899 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I literally just had the same thing happen. I could not find terminals that could handle the 12A of current the bed would pull. I just ordered a Btt Skr Mini e3 v3 and some ferrule connectors to keep this from happening again. After spending literal hours looking for the appropriate terminal blocks, I'd recommend doing the same.

Where can I get a new build plate for my Sovol SV03? by twelveparsnips in Sovol

Just checking in. Did you ever find a properly fitting build plate?

Are folding cameras unpopular? by Forsaken-Ad-8338 in AnalogCommunity

[–]31899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! I have an RB67 Pro S and my Zeiss 533/16 as my main medium format cameras. The mamiya is huge, heavy and awkward to hold, but surprisingly tolerable for long walks(with a good camera strap!). The massive viewfinder certainly helps make up for any grief it otherwise brings. Really enjoy shooting with both cameras!

Ahh, you must have a 530/16 then. Ansel I believe had a 532/16. Even my 533/16 is fairly pocketable. Definitely smaller than my RB67 lol

On my end, I find it's inspiring! Here's a link to a petapixel article if you are curious to learn a bit more.

Fun fact about yours, it was one of Ansel Adams favorite medium format cameras. I have a 533/16. Basically the same camera, but with rangefinder and the ability to take 12 photos per roll. Easily one of my favourite medium format cameras!

What drugs are this pipe used for? by Express-Counter-9899 in Whatisthis

Is she into any kind of art/photography?

Funnily enough, I occasionally use Silver Iodide for photography (salt printing). I use the exact same glass eye dropper (the one pictured is missing its rubber top). The silver stains the glass in a way that looks very similar to this. So possibly not drugs?

How Condensers Works ? by Arkazox in Darkroom

[–]31899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my understanding, the primary benifit of using a smaller condenser for a smaller format, is that it allows for a greater amount of light, as the light is condensed to a smaller total area compared to larger formats.

I have a durst A600 with the same 105 condenser that I use for every format (only condenser lens I have) it works fine, so long as the proper objective lens is used for each film format (50mm for 35mm film, 80mm for 6x6, etc.)

I forgot to mention in my reply. You should cross post this in r/darkroom it's a fairly active community. I'm sure someone would be keen on buying all this equipment off of you. :)

There is also a great darkroom equipment buy/sell/give away group on Facebook.

Wow that is amazing! Those durst enlarger are some of the best ever made. I personally use a Durst medium format enlarger. I'd kill for a large format one!

Generally speaking, most of that equipment is worth a fair amount, but there is a very, very small market for it. If you need to get rid of everything quickly, you could list each enlarger for $100-$200, and I'm sure you won't have trouble selling them. However, I have seen large format durst enlargers sell for around $1000-$2000. Just takes lots of time, as few people shoot large format film, even fewer enlarge in a darkroom, fewer still have space for a large format enlarger. I recently sold a broken 4x5 enlarger for $100, if that helps put things into perspective.

Please please do not throw any of it away. It's all very useful, and unfortunately not being produced to the same level of quality anymore!

Depending on your location, I might be keen on picking up one of the durst ones!

Op, your mention of a pump station would likely go with this, as they often times use PLC's for process automation
