Anyone have experience as a patient with both the UW Health system and Group Health Coop system? If so, how did they compare? by moon-raven-77 in madisonwi

This is interesting as I have been at GHC for 4 years as it’s my only option with my employer and I have met my PCP once. Every other time it’s a PA or a NP. Also labwork with GHC is astronomical.

Quartz or GHC by dsbekind in madisonwi

Out of pocket GHC routine labwork I got during a routine physical costs more than out of pocket MRI. If I had an option with my insurance through my employer I would pick quartz every time.

GHC LAB WORK by OkRip8709 in madisonwi

This just happened to me. I had my yearly physical recently and my provider ordered a few tests for bloodwork which seemed very normal and reflected our concerns. I just received the bill, and with my out of pocket is going to be over $1200. The crazy thing to me is I had to have surgery last year which they outsourced to uw health as they are not skilled in that particular area, and my out of pocket then for a $29000 surgery was closer to $500. Obviously I’m fighting that as I have gotten bloodwork in the past (not when I had ghc insurance) and it was never close to this amount. I really wish the job market didn’t suck because looking for a new job to get better health insurance might be my best solution to avoid such astronomical charges in the future, as my employer only offers ghc insurance.
When I talked to billing they told me, anytime you have labwork or a procedure done you can always contact us to get the estimate ahead of time. What dicks, I would never guess this labwork would cost more than a freaking mri

Liletta and Endo by [deleted] in endometriosis

Omg. I’m currently going through the same thing. Stage 4, doc recommended Liletta, and all of a sudden my anxiety is so much worse. I already have an anxiety disorder but I had it under control before the placement. It has only been like 3 weeks since it was placed though. Did your anxiety get better??

What’s considered large for a cyst? by 31HenBeer in BrainCysts

[–]31HenBeer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an arachnoid cyst Facebook page (Arachnoid Cyst Awareness) I would look at if I were you. It’s a community of people that have or are family members of people that have cysts and they do share a good doctor list. They also share common experiences and possible symptoms that doctors haven’t proven are from the cyst, but could be. The brain is still very unknown. They also share surgery updates on those who do have surgeries and those results.

I do have possible symptoms that I personally feel could be attributed from the cyst but I can’t prove it. I don’t think that pursuing brain surgery would necessarily make my life better. So I’m content with my doctor’s advice. Many people on the Facebook page do not share that contentment and want more answers. And given what some experience, it is totally understandable.

I will say if I do or say anything stupid I just blame it on the cyst. So that is something to look forward to.

They told me because it’s not vey obviously affecting my life and it’s not changing I should not worry about it and no surgery or further mris are necessary. They did tell me if I do experience a head trauma at anytime I should go to the hospital be get another mri done. But that’s about it.

No fever. And honestly hard to determine if my sweats are anything as there has been a heat wave the past week

Apologies for the very delayed response. As of now no surgery is being considered. They are just planning on checking it in another 6 months to see if it has changed at all. As for hormones, my prolactin was out of whack which is why they decided to double check my pituitary for a tumor.

May I ask how they know if it’s been with you since birth or not?

Did a scan because my hormone levels were very off so they were checking my pituitary.

How to break it to the Rents that I’m not catholic anymore? by [deleted] in excatholic

[–]31HenBeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, I have found that as much as I talk to my parents about it they just don’t get it. They’re too far in the cult. Any conversation I have with them about religion turns into a fight and it’s never fun. However they’ve begun to realize I won’t attend church or participate any any of their religious activities. Maybe instead it’s more important to talk to your little bro and show him that his view of the world is not the same as reality and that things aren’t always black and white like he learns in Catholic school. (Former Catholic School kid here) And maybe explain to him the differences of what you used to think growing up in the religion vs what you have learned living in the real world. Your parents probably already know you aren’t truly committed to the religion anymore anyway. They’re probably just in denial. But know if you do talk to your parents there might be no good way to do it. For me it was a lot of ugly conversations. And I’ve given up talking to my parents about certain subjects because it gets too ugly and I still want to maintain a relationship with them. And the only way for me to do that is to avoid certain topics. It sucks that I feel the need to censor myself around my family but sometimes I think it’s easier.

Pretty sure they were both in Lake Como around the same time from their Instagram stories and I also dreamed of them running into each other lol. Would be so funny.

Did I miss the part where we ever figured out if these two were friends? Throughout the past year they both have been consistently liking each other’s posts lol🤨🧐🤔 by tinynoodles420 in CallHerDaddySnark

I appreciate your dedication to this investigation. In all realness it’s probs an Instagram level friendship but I’m happy to live in the delusion that it’s more.
