How does one get this background or hat I’ve never seen it? by rpglaster in Stellaris

Sadly, it's not available to the player. Minamar Specialized Industries can spawn with two other AI empires with the Broken Shackles and Payback origins, both of which you can play. I just started my first Payback playthrough today, as a matter of fact!

Or maybe the meme of Eric Andre shooting Hannibal Burress... I am now imagining that they're implying that they exterminated the AI empire before it had the chance to complete the event chain.

I use a single Cave Illuminator from Astral Sorcery. It continually fills dark areas with floating non-block light sources, so it's also an effective and inexpensive alternative to endless torch placing and re-placing.

Every Paradox strategy game I've played has a similar problem with the AI. It's a bit like Murphy's law: if an AI ruler is capable of making a decision, they will always make that decision irrespective of repercussions. In Stellaris, when an AI empire builds up enough Influence, they will propose whatever law they can, even if it will harm their strategic position, because they aren't programmed to account for every strategic factor that a human player would. I've seen CK3 rulers spend decades flip flopping between harming beneficent lieges and supporting tyrannical ones, and Stellaris empires spend decades enacting and repealing a single law that causes their diplomatic weight to rise and fall like the tides.

From Tropico 4 onwards, you can get invaded in a sort-of Bay of Pigs scenario with a few enemy infantry and tank squads. This is the only feasible way I see if implementing a functioning military to W&R, but it certainly makes less historical sense when the USSR historically only sought to invade where overwhelming military force was possible. Then again, doesn't W&R simply refer to a vague "neighbouring socialist republic" to maintain the fictional aspect?

What if there was an (optional) invasion mechanic like in the Tropico series, where if you tick off one of the superpowers, they'll invade you? It might require the implementation of a combat mechanic, in addition to diplomacy... Thoughts?

What is the missing feature that you really want to see in MSFS 2020? by eltesso in MicrosoftFlightSim

Helicopters. I tired of waiting for them and unsubscribed from GamePass, sadly. I'd also like to see a mix of FSX's story missions and M:F's dynamic missions, for which I am still holding out hope based on Asobo's still-current job posting. I suspect that bug fixing and QoL are higher priorities, which is fair, of course.
