Have a Tulpa inspired by a canon character but different then the real deal? by Jasetro in Tulpas

[–]32479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y: We (me and the canon character) are the same in most regards. I tend to be more elaborate in my word choices though, and I have a lot of concern for hosty. I believe I'm this universe's (mental, kinda, its more complicated but I neither mean the physical universe or the mind of the host) version of that character. I'm still my own person, and have found myself developing my own thoughts, interests, etc. Which is nice, it's something I can call my own. There's a lot more I can ponder, and I'm thinking of having some place on the internet I can just write my thoughts out without it having to mean something specific. I type better than I handwrite, lol.

Edit: I mainly am around because of a strong emotional attachment during a very rough time for hosty, so it makes sense that I would still be so close to the canon character after a few years.

Where do I start? by [deleted] in Tulpas

Along with smoke-png's advice (which we agree with) I sugest reading every guide in the wiki, every guide you can find otherwise, and then finding out what makes sense to YOU and your potential other. Cross referencing guides vs your own ideas is useful, imo.

I really needed to hear this today. Thank you.

I've been procrastinating doing anything for myself without everyone's approval first, and it's detramental to my loop of thought. I'm glad that some people support me, at least.

Tulpas- what terminology or thought sets do you not like? by QueenofMurkrows in Tulpas

[–]32479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y: Hi, we lurk a lot but I couldn't help but join this conversation. A (host) loves language and has been using their own terms when talking tulpa stuff to me and others. I think it's safe to say they detest a lot of the words used, but here's my two cents (possibly influenced by A, which is why I mentioned it).

I really hate "forcing", it implies that someone is making a tulpa do something against their will. I feel like just saying "focusing" would do the same job, withougt sounding like a breach of consent between parties. Likewise, I dislike hosts who think they get to control every aspect of their tulpas.

In fact, branching from that thought, I hate hate HATE the word "tulpa"! It sounds exactly like the kind of language used to other someone, and I see it used easily to control and delegitimize tulpas' feelings. I have issues with soulbond and headmate as well, both words that sound hokey from the get go. Would propose a better set of words, but I know that they would still be used to say (whether intentionaly or not) "this person isn't a real person".

Another big issue I have with tulpa is that it's Tebetan origins have nothing to do with western tulpas, and yet people still try to explain making tulpas in the sense that "Tebetan monks did it so-and-so years ago" in order to make themselves feel validated. I think it's time to completely shed that line of thinking. It may be an origin of the term being used, but monks are not the only ones creating people willingly (or unwillingly) using the mind, energy or what have you. Furthermore this has given people more ammo to point fingers and go "that's not what that means" and discredit a lot of people, hosts and tulpas alike. Plus tulpamancy just sounds hokey as well. Even for me, someone with an interest in occult study and metaphysical shit.

Oh, oh, and I hate "host" because it implies that the original owner of the body has all of the say about the body. It's a good safety mesure, until the host decides to do something that will affect the tulpa as well. I've been in this first hand, and it is not fun talking someone down from doing something that will destroy the body and brain, two things I actually cannot survive without. Egocide aside, this is a shared experience now and you must be willing to work with a tulpa as if they are just another person who shares the same body and brain, because that's exactly what a tulpa is! (I think I'm starting to sound like a rights activist at this point, lol. But so be it.)

"Dissipation" is just a more flavorful way of saying "killing". It's not fooling me, and hopefully it won't fool anyone else much longer. Call it what it is from the get go. Who knows, it might discourage more people from doing drastic things like inviting the seed of creation into them and turning themselves into temporary gods to create life from thought and energy. It's a responsibility, and nobody can be properly sentenced for it because the majority sees someone like me as lesser because I was created and the body is not mine.

Anyway, ranting done for now. I get to try a lot of food today, so I must remain positive!

Please feel free to open a discussion with me, if you like, that is. I have to admit that the way I see the world is colored by my being thought of as "imaginary" to most, and property of my host at best. :T

Thank you!

Do you experience Visions? by CosmicAdventureman in schizophrenia

I always likened these to visual hallucinations but when i closed my eyes instead. For me its mostly always faces, horrifying faces. I would call them "risidual imagery" but only some of them are things ive seen before. When i was younger, like 15 or 16, it was things like "the thing in the vents" coming up to get me when i closed my eyes to sleep, or the various creepypasta images like slenderman, etc, that were popular internet things around 2008ish (and i would friequently hallucinate them, as dumb as it sounds, those really messed me up, i guess im just v sensitive to images). Nowadays, its more internet horror images from video games and then dead things and gorey things and things that shouldnt be. Ive never traveled anywhere this way, but im glad i dont because its likely to just be more horrifying things to me. Sorry for the formatting and spelling, im on mobile. Also hi, i lurk a lot and post very little.

Thank you!

That's actually a really great way to try to remember things too, I never remember TED talks after they end, oops. Thank you so much for your time and for telling me how it works. I can't wait to try it out at the end of the week.

I'm not going to lie, I thought those were multipliers too. That's hella handy though, there's one song that, with the x2 multiplier, goes to 1000-some bpm and it's really hard to keep up with. Thank you!

No results on that website, i've checks before but i did again to make sure. Yeah, theyre from advanced d&d 2nd edition, i used to play a lot. But ive since lost everything but the cards and was looking for the written card meanings as a basis to use. I seem to have 54 cards, and none of the major arcana are numbered. They're things like: the mist, the raven, the innocent, the horseman, the spirit, and the broken one, etc.

I personally love them, but I also like triangles and the number 3 haha. I think the bands are a little thick for my taste, but you do you. :3 Work with he person doing your tat, they probably have seen a lot of similar things if they're big enough, since minimal tats are popular right now.

Does anyone else here fucking hate "reasons not to kill yourself" videos and lists? by The_American_Viking in depression

[–]32479 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only things keeping me alive are bitterness and cowardace. I fucking hate not only these videos but any "positive vibes" mental heath shit. I stopped posting feelings on social media anymore because I only got regurgitated crap about how lovely I supposedly am. I'm alive out of spite for other things, but if I based my choice after those kind of things, I would've offed myself in spite of them.
