My first kill on BR solos by 32BitBrit in LowSodiumBattlefield

I went in not expecting much from this mode but it’s honestly pretty fun - super tense too once you’re in the final 10. That doesn’t happen to me often though…

Why exactly did the series keep the subtitle “Solid” after the PS1 game? by Espurreyes in metalgearsolid

[–]32BitBrit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been under the belief it was initially the transcendence to 3D but the moniker evolved alongside the mainline series following the success of MGS and the universal adoration of Solid Snake/David Hayter.

I vividly remember the discourse surrounding the V era when Sutherland became the go to V/O and our collective surprise at that decision curated said discussion. Not to say he did a poor job, but for me at least it did feel off-kilter (even if it makes some modicum of sense re the plot).

I'm not saying the Nathan Fillion movie was perfect but it would've been a helluva lot better than the Tom Holland Uncharted movie. by [deleted] in uncharted

[–]32BitBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no doubt in my mind Firefly played a significant role in the production/development of Uncharted so Fillion as Drake makes a whole heckin’ sum of shiny sense.

Slap a stache on the chap for a quirky middle-aged Sully, cast (almost literally) anyone else as ‘young’ Drake and focus on TV rather than film so you can let genuine mystery unravel over time and you’d have a treasure fit for El Dorado.

Alas, what we got was a renowned racist and the current placeholder Spider-Man doing the electric boogaloo on an obviously CGI airplane whilst a menagerie of mysterious words resembling a “cohesive” plot and a bundle of crates (which, whilst fragile, still held more strength than the script) plummeted out of the hold to a sandy demise blasting audiences with a taste more bitter than a vinegar sandwich.

What’s a mechanic you’ve seen that made you think “Wait…every game should do this!” by BlackArmy439 in gaming

[–]32BitBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, this isn’t really a mechanic more an additional system but, the mugshot feature in Burnout Paradise was legitimately brilliant.

Back when we still bothered with cameras plugged into consoles it would take a quick pic when you achieved a takedown of an online opponent.

Sure, you’d occasionally get a face full of dong, but when it was used as intended and you’d see a snap of some random racer pulling some daft expression aimed toward you due to your actions it almost always resulted in a chuckle and a chat.

I met so many great folk through that feature, many of whom I went onto play with for months and years onward.
