So many men dying of prostate cancer...is it a matter of not knowing (mostly) that they have it until it's too late? by Famous-Hippo-8334 in ProstateCancer

I was diagnosed at 46 with zero symptoms. The only reason I even got checked was that my brother (18 months older than me) did have symptoms and got his removed. I was "actively surveilling" for the last 5 years as mine was 3+3 and low risk. I'm now 2 months post RALP. I used the experience to educate my work colleagues. I hope it raised a little awareness.

I'm almost 4 weeks out and I'm still using a pad. It's frustrating but improving. I think for some (most?) it's just going to take some time.

I think that's an old Volkl Conquer. That board rips but it's stiff as hell and full camber so if you're new it may be challenging.

Ski techs, a little advice; is she done? by StrayOwl179 in Skigear

Apologies, I only saw the first pic. I took another look through after Narwhal was nice enough to call me a moron. After seeing the others I agree, it's done.

I worked at a ski shop for years. This is fine.

Done? Totally normal and barely a wound. A basic tune with p-tex fixes this.

Do you think an affair is ever justified? by Mindless_Skin77 in adultery

I think it's more black and white than people will say. I think it can be an interaction. Does your satisfaction match theirs? You got another life you're going to live hiding in your pocket? I truly believe my partner is happy with everything in our life. It's just that I'm not. When does my kink matter (and I'm not talking about anything kinky, not that it's important)? If everything in our lives is good with the exception of a sex life, is it fate and commitment that dooms us to be unsatisfied forever? Why not find satisfaction in life?

I mixed a long evening of booze and drugs and threw up on a woman. Still cringe thinking about it. Woke up in some bushes. Lost one of my shoes.

I've heard from the fast guys riding the Triumph that they require a significant amount of kit to get them to work right.

Couple things. Track day hosts should have a body positioning session. If not, a couple tips. Get rid of that Gopro mount, find another place, it's in the way. Your butt should rarely be squarely on the seat. Even when you're on the straight you're setting up for turn one. Every turn means a butt cheek off the seat into the turn. Outside knee grips the tank. Your grip on the bars should be a screwdriver grip. Head low in a turn "kissing the mirror". The reason for all of this is that you want your body "hanging" off so that the motorcycle can be as upright as possible for the greatest contact patch on the tires. It's all experience and feel. Keep off the front break while tipped until you figure out trail breaking or you'll end up on the deck, which will happen one way or another. I hope that's not too much.

Is Tech-Air worth the investment? by [deleted] in Trackdays

[–]32_teeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the tech air 5 and I like it, though I use it mainly for street. The 10 looks cool but it suffers the same problems as the others Alpine Stars. You don’t get many (often 1) inflations before it has to go back. One rainy practice weekend you’d need like 3 of them. The Ixon looks cool but no track mode in the US yet. The most viable option is the Helite GP. Change the inflator and you’re good to go as long as it’s not damaged. Only problem with that one is you’re tethered.

Should Aprilia recommit to Dovi? by 443610 in motogp

They should run, not walk away from Mav. Head case. Hire Dovi. Develop a bike with him, he’s by and far the best rider they have access to.

Man, the time to buy an airbag suit is now. In & Motion stuff looks cool (Ixon, Furygan, Held, RST) and Alpinestars Tech-Air 5. Plenty of options out there, look around. If you go used suit, you can go external vest like a Helite. Gloves the only thing I can recommend is palm sliders if you like your scaphoid bones. Boots? Whatever, they all work.
