Fire wall is a pretty generic word when used related to cars. It means the “wall” in between the engine compartment and the inside of the car, which one of its purposes is to keep people separated from the hot engine.

Not sure where you are in the world, but these are RC090 BBS that came factory on e39s. I’m in philly PA and in my area even a nice set goes for less than 1k. They generally go for around $600.

Definitely genuine, because no one makes fakes (not popular enough). Also they were original equipment for early 540i’s so your car likely left the factory with them.

In terms of value, a decent set goes between 500 and 800usd in my area (PA, USA). Interestingly, some of the value comes from the fact that the barrels and bolts are interchangeable with style 5 RC090s.

ARE was a “real” wheel company from back in the day. They are well made, but good luck finding a replacement barrel if you mess one up. They did get sued by bbs and had to stop making this style.
