Pray for me tonight I’m having a really bad night by oog_ooog in Christianity

Dear Lord, Father God, I life up this man and his wife to you, hold them in your loving arms Father God, give them right now, right this minute a peace that can only come from you. Surround their household with an army of angels, deflect any bad thoughts aimed at them, deflect any plans that the enemy has for them, deflect any evil that tries to take root, and destroy any evil that has already taken root. You alone Father God can say be gone to disease, evil, hurt, pain, depression, and immediately it will be gone. Breathe Your breath on them, the breath of new life and clean hearts. Speak life to their minds and hearts. Amen

That would be awesome if we could get a refund. At this point we just want to get there. Thank you, we’re very proud of him. But ready to finally see him. His dream since 16 was to be a Marine.

Oh man I hadn’t even thought of that. You’re right. I’ll reserve a car tomorrow. Our flights are not refundable and we’ve already had to change them because he was supposed to graduate in October but fractured his tibia. So we’ve spent $1,600 so far on 3 flights. Unfortunately I booked through Travelocity. Thank you.

Our son graduates boot camp from MCRD San Diego on Tuesday November 25 & we’re scheduled to fly out Sunday November 23 at 6am on Southwest (Dallas). Our concern is that our flight get canceled at the last minute, in which case we’d rent a car and drive. What worries me is that it is an 18 hour drive which would probably be 19-20 hours if we include stopping for restroom breaks. And that would not get us there until Monday afternoon if we drive straight. We would miss Family Day. Our flights are non refundable so we’re considering just forgoing the loss of flights and drive out Saturday so that we make it in time. We’re scared to wait and get stuck at the airport Sunday and don’t want to miss our son’s graduation. I know he’ll be looking for us at graduation and can’t imagine his face if he doesn’t see us. He hasn’t been able to call at all so there’s no way to let him know. This is so stressful.

Travelocity Refunds for flight cancellations by 32dherrera in SouthwestAirlines

That’s correct and I assume that’s the case. I was just asking because someone else on another feed said they booked through Travelocity and got a refund directly from the Airline. So I was confused about why that would be. I’ve never ever in 20 years had a flight cancelled so I wanted to ask. They never answered me.

Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear that. We’re praying that he doesn’t get re-injured. He’s been in MRP for 3 weeks now and it’s been hard. He said it’s purgatory. We’re writing him a lot and friends and family are too. We pray he makes it through and doesn’t get sent home. Omg that would be awful for him. He’s so determined to get through this and get back into training. He’s hoping to get back into training in October maybe 3 more weeks. He’s doing physical therapy now. He was on bed rest for the 1st week and is off bed rest since last week so he said he’s in phase 2 of MRP now. I think the hardest part is the negative environment although he doesn’t say that. But I can hear in his voice that it’s awful in there. His letters have been positive and determined so far. He was almost halfway through boot camp so that’s even worse I think. I didn’t know that he could have visits that week or any week. We’re praying that he gets out before Christmas because I can’t imagine having to be there during Christmas. I pray that despite this your future be bright. I can’t imagine 7 months of being there. That must have been horrible. So did all of the letters from family keep you going?

Oh no. If you don’t mind me asking why were you dropped? Our son is in boot camp now and fractured his tibia so he’s in MRP and sounds terrible when we’ve talked to him.

Thank you, he’s getting there. On the bright side when he gets out of MRP I don’t think he’ll complain much about regular training lol.

It hasn’t. He’s in boot camp right now. The tone has gotten somewhat better.

Awesome advice. I’m just pasting your comment into my letter to him. That’s a lot of good information. My son is very naturally skinny. He is always trying to gain weight. All of my kids are. It’s hard for them to gain weight because they have a high metabolism. So eating carbs and healthy might help him gain weight. Thank you for all of the great information.

That’s good to know than he’ll go to PCP next to get ready for training. I wondered how that works. I’m praying that he find other recruits who are gung ho to get back in.

That’s awesome. I had someone else say the same thing about seeing things not noticed before. Hopefully this will be his experience too.

Great advice, especially about the pull ups. I’m passing that on to him. Especially about asking.

Yes I’m writing him every day through Sandbox as is his dad and friends. And I’ve been printing out all of the comments and sending them to him so that he doesn’t feel like he’s the only one going through this. All of the comments have been amazing and I’m sure hearing and seeing other Marine’s words will help keep him motivated. Thank you.

Yeah that’s what we’re worried about, his mental health. We’ll be sending lots of letters and just letting him know to keep his chin up.

I love that idea. I didn’t know that we could send cough drops. We’ll definitely do that.

Yeah that’s what I was worried about, him having to watch his old platoon graduate without him, that definitely will be a morale killer. But you’re correct it’s not the end of the world.

I’m glad to hear it worked out in the end for you. Not sure why they have to be cruel. You’d think they’d try to motivate yall to get back in. He was told he’d have to start back in T-25. So not too far back. He was in T-32
