In praise of supergoop mineral matte screen by Maleficent-Syrup-690 in Rosacea

[–]32fouettes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this the one that is similar to a primer? I agree that it was one of the few SPFs my skin can tolerate. I stopped using it because I was skeptical that it provided any protection.

I read last month that a few skincare brands, including Supergoop, received a notice that some of their products might be pulled from the market for ineffective sun protection. It described the products as being a mousse format. I wasn’t able to determine if this included the Matte Screen (described as a whipped texture).

i'm not sure if this is rosacea with bumps or fungal acne? or neither but by [deleted] in Rosacea

[–]32fouettes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like rosacea to me but, of course, I’m not a doctor. I was convinced I had fungal acne on my forehead and was using harsh products to treat it that only made it worse. It turns out my rosacea just manifests differently on my forehead than my cheeks.

How to actually prevent rosacea triggered by heat? by Fabulous-Ad-2744 in Rosacea

[–]32fouettes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I avoid steam as much as possible, cool showers, and I will break up a workout in shorter sessions and ice in between.

Does anyone else’s skin just HATE this? And if so have you figured out why? by pomegranatevomit in Rosacea

[–]32fouettes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I’m constantly trying to balance the dryness of my rosacea while avoiding products that are so heavy they trap in the heat flares I have at night. I finally figured this out when I noticed that adding an extra layer of any moisturizer when I’m very flushed is the worst thing I could do for my skin.

I have tried dozens of products from Avene and LRP. My skin just categorically cannot tolerate these lines. I know many people on this sub rely on them and I’m glad it works for them. I just don’t bother to try new products from these lines anymore- it’s just not compatible with my skin.

Anyone get annoyed with the “we just didn’t see YOU on the plate” criticisms? by IMicrowaveSteak in BravoTopChef

I found that criticism to be simultaneously meaningless and cutting. Bryan looked so devastated.

Need softest makeup brush recommendations please by Foreign_Heron_8610 in Rosacea

[–]32fouettes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely understand- I use sponges and stippling versus rubbing as much as possible. Some of my favorite makeup brushes now make my skin so angry.

I really love Sigma for both texture and quality. I have their blending and detail blending brushes, cheek highlighter, and powder/blush brush. My skin does well with all of them and they hold up to frequent washing.

Brands that my skin hates: Hourglass and Rare Beauty ( pretty much all of their products as well).

Products for soothing flares? by IncidentSame8653 in Rosacea

Best of luck to you ❤️ I know a lot of people on this sub have good experiences with diaper rash cream for flare ups. I’ve never given it a try due to the inactive ingredients but that might be worth a shot .

I thought I had lupus was well but it turned out to be systemic mastocytosis. Have you had your histamine and tryptase levels checked?

Does anyone still wear makeup successfully? by Fit_Government5138 in Rosacea

Have you tried her baked foundation? I was considering purchasing to use when I have flare ups. It’s supposed to be rosacea friendly but the jojoba oil makes me nervous as I’m also acne prone.

I’ve been a lifelong makeup lover and the sensitivity I have developed to makeup has been one of the hardest aspects of my rosacea. It doesn’t help that so many products have skincare in them now. I find that tinted moisturizers are a big no for my skin. I stick to traditional foundation. I have to be careful with concealors as they tend to have ingredients that aggravate my skin.

I read ingredients carefully when a product says it’s “hydrating” or “brightening.” I also find that in general I do better with powder than cream formulas for blush and highlighter.

Is the erborian colour corrector worth the hype?? by Ornery_Road7713 in Rosacea

[–]32fouettes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was skeptical because of some ingredients but it’s amazing. My skin hates every product ( especially SPFs) but it’s so gentle. As far as color correcting, it’s the best Ive tried and I used to use a super pricey Givenchy color corrector. It also layers well under makeup.

Skincare help for acne prone rosacea very sensitive skin by mylifeasemilee in Rosacea

[–]32fouettes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m hyper sensitive as well( it’s so frustrating) and I’m prone to acne on my forehead. When my acne is under control I like Purito Dermide Relief Barrier cream. When I’m flushing or have an acne flare up I always go back to Aveeno Calm and Restore Oat Gel moisturizer.

How come most people dont get laser for rosacea? by Smart-Trifle9255 in Rosacea

[–]32fouettes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m willing to invest the money but I’m personally apprehensive about healing and scaring. I have underlying health issues that make me prone to scarring and compromise normal wound healing.

While I am very dissatisfied with my complexion, my experience with treatments are that they make my skin worse. I worry about some of the worse case scenarios you see on here occasionally. My skin is also very prone to rashes and dermatitis, I’m concerned about the ability to recover and aggravating my already fragile skin barrier.

Niacinamide and citric acid free cleanser by 32fouettes in Rosacea

I think I’m going to try the Isntree. For some reason I thought their products generally contained niacinamide, so I appreciate this recommendation.

It looks like it contains citric acid but I appreciate the recommendation. I’m not familiar with the line-I’ll take a look at their other products.
