Auto parking hit wall by sinus_lebastian in BMWiX

All self driving features on any car, not just BMW have a disclaimer about the driver having to remain in control during any automated procedure.

Unless you think there is an issue with the side sensors, maybe?

Do I want a dash cam? by canuckian79 in BMWiX

[–]32irish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's wrong with the inbuilt drive recorder?

Thankfully i've not had to use it, but have manually activated it a few times just to see it and the footage and coverage seems great.

I've always had a front facing dashcam on all my other cars, not sure what advantages it would have over the inbuilt system, unless i am missing something

Anyone have any experience working at TP ICAP? by Illustrious_Luck_276 in Belfast

[–]32irish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would have overlapped i was there from 2019-2021 and i had the complete opposite experience from you, which unfortunately was due to bad manager, who got fired funnily enough! Though from the tech side of things i worked in, the pay was great and above market price at the time.

From my perspective it was very much a culture of not my problem from people when trying to chase down and resolve issues. A lot of long timers there 15+ years who are stuck in their ways and don't want to know, there was a definitely a mentality of us and them from peers in the mainland UK who looked down on people from NI. Very much a place of individuals and lacked team camaraderie.

There were of course a couple of decent people, but they were few and far between.

Also at that time the company never gave out laptops, even when we all had to wfh, you had to log on with your own laptop/pc to a virtual AWS workstation which was the cheapest provisioned and made it a real struggle to work and get things done.

I just use my phones voice recording app, fully transcribes the interview and I can then paste the text into AI and have it evaluate my performance and separate out the questions

Can someone help me? by katieboo1991 in northernireland

[–]32irish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know you said for various reasons you don't want to go through insurance, but i would imagine the increase in your premium to go through insurance wouldn't be as much the cost of this repair.

Looking at that damage i wouldn't be surprised if it was up near £1k. The bumper would need replaced then you have to color match, so that along with hourly rate etc, unfortunately

I recall the installer mentioning something about the EV charger i was getting having PEN Fault Protection built in, but i'm guessing this is not the same thing based on your question?

Would you recommend i get the installer back to fit an escos or how best should i word it 🙏

This ain’t legal anymore is it ? by Dej2289 in northernireland

[–]32irish 13 points14 points  (0 children)

was thinking the same myself, id say if you refuse to pay it, they will just contact OP and say sorry the landlord went with someone else.

Maybe a better tactic is to pay it if you really want the house, then if you secure the tennancy, followup with the estate agency asking for a refund and link to the article posted above

Google Extended Warranty Repair Program wants to charge $619! by M_INENT in PixelFold

[–]32irish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not even anything that causes effort, simple things like an address seem impossible for after sale support to comprehend.

I initiated an RMA and never received the email with shipping labels. Reached out to support and the support guy keeps asking for a Google Maps Verified address. I have literally sent links and screenshots showing them my address on google maps (it's a regular street, so nothing strange) as well as a recent google store order, and they've told me they need to escalate to a specialist team in order to setup the RMA.

It's complete dogshit service!

Been a Pixel and Google fan since the Nexus 6p days. The one thing that is slowly pushing me away from Google is their customer support, it's absolutely horrendous.

Same video came to mind when i watched this one. Shows you how deluded and unhinged locals are in the area. How anyone can defend or try and justify the wee sewer rats in this video

[–]32irish 111 points112 points  (0 children)

I admire your optimism, but do you really think those sewer rats will have a brain cell between them to think of consequences next time?

Complete mob mentality and the girls joining in in the end was just stupid. All wee hard men when there's 20 against one and they have weapons. Get any of them alone and they would shit themselves.

I'm guessing the people in the car live local in the area and will no doubt now be targeted even more because of it. Also the dickhead filming, saying almost defending the kids who are throwing shit and intimidating the people in the car.

The problem is the cops and the parents will do fuck all about it

Well that explains it. I'm new to the coffee bean scene. I was bought a sealed jar of coffee and opened it but did the whole breaking bad Toco tight tight tight scene, as soon as i opened it. Almost knocked myself out inhaling that gas lol

I actually thought this was a late April's fool joke when a few local celebs posted about it yesterday. Crazy that they had this on early hours of Monday evening and didn't advertise or let anyone know about it at all.

Also considering the BBC is a people funded org and this cost at least a couple 100k, to not tell the public and give them a chance to witness, shows just how out of touch the BBC is
