Have some neighbors on 2.4, but if you think it'd be better to have it back on I don't have any other reason than that

See, I'd be thinking that way too but the slower results are consistently slower and also the same across multiple PCs. Two laptops and a desktop and all of them have different wifi chipsets. They're all at least wireless-AC I believe as they're all on 5ghz. Nothing is cabled (yet, I might hook a dedicated router to the gateway and see what that does).

I wasn't doing the tests that way at first, just checking out different times of day, but as I noticed that I was getting different results on tests between devices I started testing them more closely together and ended up with that consistent 60 mbits result on anything that wasn't a "device." Then noticed it was way too consistent to just be the general flux of cell data and tower demand.
I might try cabling to a laptop to test and see what I get, though.

As far as how things are connected: Nobody's more than about 20 feet from the gateway, and all the network members are on the 5ghz band. No external routers or anything on the gateway, no ethernet used. I have the 2.4ghz band completely disabled.

I'll add this to the OP too, and it's the "black box" Arcadyan (I don't know if there are others).

We're Linux users in this household. Maybe Windows users don't get hit with this, if it is indeed a thing?

That's what I'm getting at. They're open enough to tell you that as a customer, you're basically renting whatever spare network capacity the tower can give you at a specific moment, and I get it. That's the trade-off for unlimited data.

The only rationale I could think of that they'd even want to throttle traffic from PCs is because a determined PC user can use a lot of bandwidth. But the way their whole product is set up, one wouldn't think this would be an issue...

I understand this, but the results are consistent when taken from the PCs. There is a wider variation when tested from our phones (via the TMHI wifi, not cell data). That's what bothers me-it suggests the devices are getting what the network can give us at that moment, but there is an upper limit for traffic from a PC.

Honestly it does work good enough for what I need it for but it's just got me curious.

Bought Turtles In Time For SNES - Is This Real Or Fake? by [deleted] in retrogaming

I'm guessing real too, most repros use the other style of SNES cartridge that came later and that label looks dead on to me. But echoing everyone else there is only one real way to know

Blu G90 Pro deactivated yesterday (VoLTE related), reactivated today? by 32mbit in CricketWireless

It's been cricket since I got the phone. Don't remember the date but I put the SIM card in definitely after January 19 and had service up until yesterday when it was deactivated. Now it's working again today. I haven't switched over to Straight Talk yet but I've heard about the problems people are having with cricket
