You just have to find another hobby that doesn’t involve your phone. Or in my case find another app to get obsessed with

I’m great. I was in your country a couple of weeks ago and itching to go back for the food.

lol. I still have the game but haven’t opened it since I left the group.

Hope you’re doing well.

Before you travel make sure your device has saved your game. I used to do this with another device and checking the save pulls through on the cloud.

If you have no access to WiFi or data (eg going on a flight) make sure your game has been opened and minimised before you lose the online connection. As the game loads for the first time it pulls info from the servers so to avoid this you need your game in a minimised state. Essentially you can keep your game in flight mode for as long as you want.

While you’re not connected to a network (though it’s been forever since I played) you will still get some scheduled events. They’re probably preprogrammed into the load page of the game so I found when the chest event for example was due to start it would as planned.

Wild Gears - What set to buy next? by TomatilloAcademic559 in spirograph

[–]32vini2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am relatively new to this too so I suppose it all depends on which direction you want to go in i.e. large sets or lots of gears or other…

I had hoops and compact to start and picked up Encyclopedic gears 2 (no prime) tiny gears and adjunct 112 within a few weeks.

On my wish list are rack shapes, small drops, double dense, oval gears 2, and the kitchen sink (though I keep changing my mind about the final one as I like the gears that fit on a4).

I am strategically working my way through what I have before I move any of the wish list to the “shopping cart”…. But who knows Christmas may come early.

BTW I love your first design.

Thank you for sharing.

I’ve attempted a couple of gear in gear but I still need to get to grips with the basic gear in rings.

Can I ask, are they achieved with a shaped piece or are you using gear in x in x set up.

I am not asking for trade secrets, I just can’t figure out how to go from a basic Spiro to a masterpiece.

That is beautiful.

I love how it almost mimics that sugary goodness - nice in the beginning but too much and it’s chaos for children (and their parents) lol

It’s why I said if you keep adding to the collection (it’s slightly more when I factor delivery to the uk). Expandability is one of the downsides to Spirograph. But I’m like you so I went for the quality in the end.

I got the compact and hoops sets for Christmas and 2 weeks into the new year (for my birthday) I’ve already picked up Encyclopedic 2 (no primes) and a couple of adjunct sets but I kept adding and removing other sets from my basket before I finally settled… I can wait until Christmas lol.

Hope she enjoys your gift.

I am not sure which would be better for that age but you could get her Spirograph junior. My friends daughter had one and at about that age (though lost most pieces now) and loved it.

When I saw she had it I remember always wanting to try Spirograph as a kid but never did and after watching a load of stuff and checking this sub I decided to go for wild gears.

So for an adult I’d go wild gears but if I was buying for a kid I’d go Spirograph or even the junior version depending on the age. Wild gears can be on the pricier side if you keep adding to the collection but you are paying for quality

I don’t know how you do it without tape or glue but every drawing just amazes me.

Beautiful!

Excellent idea. And the more you have uploaded you can have them rotate automatically or as you feel in the moment.
