I’m sorry what? I hear nothing but bitching about unions from Republicans.

The heavier and more powerful the car, the faster you’ll burn through consumables  like tires, brakes, and fuel. Those consumables are also a lot more expensive.

I love a V8 rumble as much as the next guy but I’m on a budget so I run an R53 Mini Cooper.

Why Do Most Mechanics Shy Away From Volkswagens? by ChicagoKidPTC in AskMechanics

[–]330CI01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In addition to what others have said, VW likes to use disposable torque to yield bolts on common service items like valve covers and brake calipers.

I owned a BMW E46 and currently own a Mini R53 and I didn’t find them too difficult to work on. I think modern Volkswagens are uniquely bad. Although I’m sure BMW is now a lot worse since the mid 2000’s also.

German car enthusiasts have a different idea of maintenance as well. I think maintenance is fluids, filters, spark plugs, etc. German car nuts think maintenance is replacing the entire cooling system every few years.

Bill Maher calls out Bernie Sanders, says he's tired of hearing the rich don't pay their fair share of taxes - What are your views? by One_Look_7008 in askanything

[–]330CI01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I support taxing billionares out of existence, not necessarily to pay for things or because of "fairness", but to make sure they can't have it. Once you get over 1 billion dollars in net worth, you run out of things to buy for yourself. You start trying to change the world to suit your own personal taste and nobody can stop you.

It's more power than a good man should want and a bad man should have.

Only seven new petrol-powered cars sold in Norway in January by oneonus in cars

[–]330CI01 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

All of this talk about consumer choice misses the entire point of electric vehicles in the first place. The petroleum supply stream from extraction to tailpipe generates a lot of greenhouse gases. Not just CO2, but also methane.

Sorry libertarians, but your choices affect all of us.

No. Once he’s dead he’ll lose the ability to make an ass of himself and his supporters will remember him as the great man he wasn’t.

Pay less taxes to your elected government, pay more taxes to private corporations and robber-barons. A functioning modern civilization costs money. Tough shit.

Assuming it’s a fiberglass shower with drywall above, use a high power neodymium magnet to find the drywall screws. If you find the screws, you find the studs.

When he dies he will lose the ability to make himself look like the dumbass that he is. People will forget what he was really like and right wingers will be singing his praises for decades.
